I told that Spain many military enthusiasts are following closely and defending KAAN project.

I am reading this article carefully and again there are some mistakes. They´re opposing KAAN project to FCAS (SCF if Germany separate). But in reality it is KAAN vs F35. FCAS (SCF) it is a longer frame time project.

KAAS is flying!!!. Even if it has a temporary engine it is flying. FCAS/SCF will not fly until first KAAN units are delivered to Turkey Air Force (2035 at least). EF18M (spanish designation to the improved FA/18A) are flyable for some years still and would coincide with first deliveries of KAAN fighters. So eventually KAAN would succeed EF18M avoiding F35 purchase (unlike Italy, Germany and UK that bought it). FCAS would succeed Typhoon not EF18M that would finish their lifespan years ago.

But overall I am happy spanish military enthusiasts are defending Turkish project.

KAAN's potential customers , after the production of the domestic Engine

Some F35 customers are not happy with F35 (Switzerland and Belgium). So I guess some minor european nations would abide or decrease F35 purchases for some KAANs.

It is a real shame that Europe does not have an engine in the same class of the General Electric F110, would make induction easier for Europe if they have the same class of engine that they could use.

Engines, are, with all military programs the Achilles heal that will define success or failure of that programme.

Switzerland buying F-35s is so bizarre. Aren't they all about Neutrality? lol they buy literally the most dependent platform, wouldn't Gripen or Rafale have made more sense?

The fact it is Switzerland has a kind of poll of each relevant decision. F35 won by very little margin.

After stupid POTUS policies and costs overruns, now it is possible that in any further poll about purchasing more fighter jets, they could eventually decide for any outsider 5 gen aircraft.

Simply they're not happy politically and economically with this tender. So even if It sounds bizarre, if KAAN goes ahead in schedule, It can be a second fighter of Switzerland Air Force.

When I say this, anti-Turkish figures like Foinikas come and say the hype machine started

Türkiye surprises international military circles and unveils three prototypes of its “KAAN” stealth fighter at once.

Turkey recently released new footage of its fifth-generation fighter, TAI KAAN, showing three prototypes of the aircraft. This offer comes as part of its ambitious program to develop domestically-made fighter aircraft, with a clear goal of having this fighter enter service by 2028. If this goal is achieved, Turkey will be the fourth country in the world, after the United States, China and Russia, to possess a locally developed fifth-generation fighter.

The aircraft features low monitoring, an internal weapons compartment, advanced electronics architecture, improved situational awareness capabilities and sensor integration for superior performance in air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.

Head of Defense Industries Kholouk Gorgon: When looking at Kaan's technical capabilities - from the speed it will reach to stealth technology, from electronic warfare capabilities to multi-role missions - it can be said that it will belong to the elite class of fighter aircraft, of which there are only a limited number in the world.

Why BD will not attempt to buy KAAN?

It is a big aircraft probably not suited for distributed operation from temporary air strips and highways. It seems more suited for fixed traditional airbases. We have several of them but such facilities are not survivable in BD's geography due to lack of strategic depth.

French media: Spain may buy Turkish Kaan stealth fighters

According to French media reports, Spain may move towards purchasing the Turkish national fifth-generation fighter “Kaan” to enhance its defense capabilities. Reports indicate that this step may bring about a change in the balance of strategic defense in Europe.

The Turkish “Kaan” fighter program is receiving wide international attention, especially in light of the challenges that Madrid faces in making its decision regarding the F-35 program. The decision on this program is going through a period of political uncertainty, while Spain continues to face difficulties in the “Future Combat Air System” (FCAS) project in which it participates with France and Germany. Because of these obstacles, the Spanish government is looking for multiple alternatives.

The French news website Avia News reported, citing its sources, that the Spanish government may be moving towards adopting the Turkish fighter 'Kaan' as a distinct option from both a technical and strategic standpoint. The current cooperation framework between Spain and Turkey constitutes a basic pillar to support this trend.

The report highlights the possibility of the two countries cooperating in developing a fifth-generation fighter, including the jet engine used in the Kaan. According to the Spanish magazine Defensa y Seguridad, both TUSAŞ and ITP Aero may develop the engine, enhancing Türkiye's capabilities in aeronautical engine technology. It is worth noting that Spain last year chose the Hürjet training aircraft produced by TUSAŞ, and purchased 18 units of it.

Don’t want to hijack the thread & digress from the great discussion, but let me say that there’s no reality in which Bangladesh has a higher GDP than Pakistan. Pakistan, for reasons known only to it, under-documents its economy. The Pakistani economy is much bigger than the official numbers will tell you. Anyone that’s visited South Asia will tell you this.
It's how I have convinced myself regarding the true size of Pak GDP, whose 70% remain undocumented (most probably by design of the Pak Deep State):

According to Gen Musharraf, they maintain 60 to 65% of the conventional capability of Bharat. Now, Bharat's defense budget is around 80b$. Therefore, equivalent Pak defense budget should be around 50b$. May conflict shows it's no heresy.....

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's interest in the project stems from its pursuit of technology transfer and enhancing local manufacturing, alongside the economic advantages represented by lower production costs comp
