Its crazy how its compounding, in the 2010s it was once in a while, now a new platform and new capabilities every few weeks and months, and the crazy thing is the sales keep increasing in terms of percentage and are still as rapid in terms of growth as it was in the beginning.

I think the next thing we need to see is a complete self protection suite for the Akinci. We recently saw the Kizilelma with an EW suite.

Akinci with DIRCM and jamming would be a game changer.

None of the recent Ad hoc counter measures for Drones we have seen with the loitering munition targetting UAVs would work as well against DIRCM like YILDIRIM 100 but for Akinci.

Something like a modular system, so you install it if you need it, and you don't necessarily need it for every mission or for every Akinci. But the software integration is there in the system if you do want to attach it. I think thats where its gonna go, make the sensors modular and based on mission profile, just like how munitions are modular based on mission profile.

I do not think we need it for the Akinci, that will operate standoff distances. It will be to expensive.

Akinci itself is expensive, and we have seen them shoot it down in Iraq and some in Sudan. There needs to be a self protection suite of some sort, otherwise, they detect it with a non emitting source as they did with the Iranian system and then the missile is guided by an optical sensor. On price point, that is a severe loss. Losing a $30-40 Million dollar drone to a cheap man portable loitering munition.

Obviously I'm not saying you need to have a self protection suite on a TB2, but the Akincis are now near or if not the same price as a T129, especially with the Akinci C and the future Akinci XL variant proposed. These will need Self protection suites, just like how the T129 has countermeasures to keep survivability.

Similar to the DIRCM on the T129s that are supposed to be used.

I am writing this, airdefence systems will absolute in future wars. The first who hits hard and fast win the battle. You can not protect yourself against cheap ammunution.

IMO the concept of hunting loitering drone with AKINCI is wrong, we need to put a 30mm gun on KIZILELME and thats it.

Will the AKINIC XL be used in maritime role like the MQ9 M? or just like the GLOBAL HAWK

KIZILELMA can not stay in the air for 24 hours for patrol mission

but We can install 20 mm cannon POD to AKINCI to hunt Kamikaze Drones like Israeli HAROP or Iranian SHAHED-1361771753281203.png

AKINCI UCAV to hunt UCAVs , Attack Helicopters , etc

A $100,000 muniton can shoot down a $130 million Platform like MQ-9 Sea guardian , or AH-64 Apache , etc

Greece : 3 MQ-9B SeaGuardians for ~$400 million total → roughly $133 million per drone (with ground stations, spares, etc.)

India : 31 MQ-9B including SeaGuardians run in the $3–4 billion

Thanks to MURAD AESA Radar and 100 km EREN munition

EREN high-speed loitering Munition

Weight : 35 kg
Length : 2 m
Range : 100 km
Guidance : GNSS , INS
Seeker : IIR
Role : land attack , air to air

The AKINCI UCAV, using the EREN high-speed loitering Munition, successfully destroyed a target UAV with a direct hit during an air-to-air firing test

lol why?

Guns never get used. Its dead weight. If you are using guns on Kizilelma, something has gone totally wrong.

There is a reason 6th gen planes coming out don't have guns, even J-20 doesn't have guns.

iran sends 10k junk drone you will use 50k missile? that is the whole story, russia and israel uses guns to humt that drone

In that case you use a modular pod or as we are recently seeing, deploy attack helicopters. who use their guns with airburst ammunition.

You don't compromise a Air Superiority fighter or a BVR platform with a built in gun, b/c the extra weight is a severe handicap in every other use case where the gun doesn't get used.

The way cheap drones are getting countered right now is via laser guided hydra rockets from a CATS, or air burst ammunition from guns. In the future lazer systems will be used as probably the most economical way to stop mass cheap drones.

of course an external pod! it has a very advanced radar, IWB can be used as a ammo drum .
