I do think, a comprehensive partnership with Israel on building up our border covg/surveillence capabilities might be the most ideal situation, theyve got the exact same threat as us, down to similar threats like the Indians pose to us. There's none similarity in security architecture due to scale of things. They have 40 km tiny Gaza Strip which they bomb and do mass murder with impunity and non-stop supply of US weapons.

We don't have a small territory to deal with. Our tribal areas alone are far bigger than Gaza with millions of population and massive size & difficult terrain. Then we have a mountainous border of 2700 kms and massive country of Afghanistan to deal with. Not to mention another massive primary front at east which is staunch ally of Israel.

Fundamentally both countries are different. We are no colonial entity. Israel is a colonial state of the west that has occupied Palestine.

Using Israel's approach will be death sentence for us. Israel's primary war was raged in one tiny Gaza strip. If we try to replicate this in Afghanistan, we will not even cover 1% of Afghanistan. Afghanistan has 35,000 to 45,000 villages. Our ammo will be finished after 100 villages. Our approach can never be same as Israel. We can only do specific targeted airstrikes and most importantly we have to build ground intelligence and work towards having a friendly regime in Kabul. We did that once, we can do that again. Otherwise 2 front situation means forever instability.

That was a joint effort. Iran bombed parts of Pakistan and Pakistan bombed parts of Iran. I believe both sides hit BLA. At the time, Pakistan was less adventurous and it worked out well with that pretext.

The very next day both sides kissed and made up.....it was coordinated. Both sides now enjoy excellent relations and Pakistan went out if its way to assist them during the 12 day war. Those that know, know.

There is no similarity between the problems we face and kind of expansionist agenda they follow.

I would let them try their luck with india and indians, that is lot better than us opening up to them. We cannot give them any assurances neither they need any from us. They cannot help us with BLA and TTP unless they can stop financing and weapons of these terrorist outfits.

I think you should base your argument on the supposition that it might encourage them to limit military assistance to India somewhat. Even that is not obvious.

As for counterterrorism, there is very little Israel can provide that isn't already available to us. There isn't an exact parallel between our security challenges and Israel's. The two borders are wildly dissimilar. Their enemy is limited to a few city blocks, pretty much surrounded on all sides. We have a 2500 KM border with very difficult terrain, and our enemy is sitting on a heap of weapons and ammunition with established supply routes to boot. Also, our enemy has support on the inside unlike theirs.

Honestly, it is probably better to seek peace with India when the opportunity presents itself.

Less to do with hamas, but more to do with them being surrounded by all sides, Intelligence and surveillance wise, i dont think anyone could offer anything even close to the kinds of stuff they have on offer, even now we find ourselves buying israeli surv kit, so im sure some sort of backend co op exists anyway tbh
