Terrorism against Pakistan is not a problem for the army only. It is for all Pakistanis when the terrorists are supported by other countries.

Simple. "Durand Line" is a non-issue for Pakistanis in KPK and Baluchistan. They don't care about it or Pashtunistan. Afghans may raise it due to all the friction between the countries in the past 50 years but reality is its one issue for one ethnicity alone among the major ethnicities of Afghanistan. I don't know about this planned genocide and I will chalk it to propaganda. Durand Line and Pashtunistan is what happens when baat ka batangar banana ho.

The border is internationally recognized. Both countries recognize each other and Pakistan recognized the Taliban in the 90s as well. What is the problem now ? Whole world already knows who put the Taliban in power in Kabul. Recognize the Taliban and start building relations with them openly. It will lead to confidence building and eventually they will pull their support for TTP/BLA.

The Taliban under Mullah Omar arent the Taliban of today - the Taliban you recognized in the 90s also had you push and introduce Haqqanis and other folks to strengthen that “Taliban”.

This Taliban is NOT them, has different warlords and factions that include many of your own mistakes of “depth” through promotion of intermarriages but also fully anti-Pakistan elements.

This isn’t a case of “oh lets go back and try what worked then” or “lets follow international norms”. This is a case of realizing an original threat for what it always was - and trying to manage a belligerent neighbor while having to manage another insurgency that is now transitioned to an ethnic angle with tacit support from elements of very large political party.

PTI has literally killed the entire counter terror policy. Their entire social media machinery and YouTubers have made sure there's a massive decision paralysis.

They won't let the army start operations in KP and clear the area, incite people that military is behind terrorism and heavily sympathise with afghan narrative. Every single day 10 soliders/policemen are killed in KP and schools are blown but that chutyia CM is roaming Islamabad and saying our fight is with the fauj.

Good luck trying to resolve the terrorism issue. You can even see the paralysis on PDF where overseas chutyias are extremely sympathetic to TTP and TTA. Also they have issues when the army does something or doesn't do anything.

On serious note, Imrand and PTI current time conspiracies are based on events that took place 10 15 years ago. They fail to realize that things change with time. Yes Pakistan was involved in shady activites in thr past with US but that was due to its own survival. You sometimes have to play along with a classroom bully to avoid getting beaten up. US no longer has that same bullying tactics it used on Pakistan in 2000s and 2010s. We can make our own defense pacts, military deals which even goes against Israle and US interests. These imranos create their own conspiracies by connecting dots just because something happend in the past. Just Because in 1940s Germans were involved in war crimes does not mean you would look at Germans in 1950s with the same lenses.

I have predicted this as soon as Bajwa/Muneer regime came to power after regime change operation, that western flanks will again be reignited and we will be here fighting WOT2. Sadly we are back to square one. There be no peace in Pakistan that it badly needs, its not by fate, its all by design. Chaos/mayhem only benefit those who earn from it.

Tactical gaps exist because we fund our military with a $10B budget when the entire US border fencing spend for Mexico is about $16B/year. This means they get to spend upwards of $6M for each mile in question.

So I am just breaking down the basics for a high level comparison. This does not mean that we don't fence and put posts up and use drones where we can, but our ability is limited and these gaps are exploited.

Imagine the locals in KPK guiding their TTP family members through gaps at the border fencing they have created at a time when the drones are not operating in the air etc.

If drones are “not operating at certain times,” that’s not a funding issue, that’s a persistence architecture issue.

Cheap ISR work precisely because fixed wing drones can loiter 8 to 12 hours qnd rotations create 24/7 coverage, ground sensors cue launches automatically. You don’t fly everywhere all the time you fly where activity is detected. This can dramatically lower your cost per kilometer.

And If locals are guiding infiltrators, that means crossings are predictable and repeated. Human guided routes leave patterns like same valleys, same dry riverbeds, same timing windows.

Persistent ISR can expos3 patterns quickly. Once routes are known, interception becomes cheaper than constant patrolling.

Right now the system is reactive instead of predictive.
