after the intial report.. the streaking sound of projectile suggests a missile.

Sir It was Canon fire means most probably 122mm.

The Taliban's only one strength is insurgency, that's the only way they have a fighting chance. Why would you give them what they want surrounded by their supporters?

Airstrikes to degrade their power and a counter proxy force works best. Occupying them is just stupid, you gain nothing but them trying to suicide bomb everywhere.

The Afghans with their visceral hatred managed to provoke a nation that is never considered serious. Even during May 2025 conflict, the Pakistanis did not go blind in hatred and response to India as they are showcasing right now. This is some achievement on part the Afghans.

This is not about "knocking sense". It is about extracting costs from them. Something they have not had to contend with in the past. Everyone is scared of the Taliban and their suicide bombers.
