Quite sure they china can already track and monitor them, and they shot down one of their own old weather satellites in 2007. Granted the starlink apparatus is smaller, but any attack on those would trigger something much worse. No doubt the other main players are refining similar systems given the utility of satellites. Given the strain on resources, it is likely we will briefly discover what everybody has got in the next 30 years if not before.

If security measures are specific to each individual satellite communication point or if it's cell communication where it is cluster of the satellites in zones to protect the others or is the constellation a large communication system.

Once we know that it would affect their abilities differently and depending on security measures in place etc.

StarLinks are communicating between themselves using space lasers that're already attached to each satellite.




It's near impossible to intercept said lasers since they go in a tiny straight line unlike wireless communication, which's easier to intercept.

If for some reason, the link between 2 starlinks is disrupted by lets say space debris, the starlinks can talk with other starlinks nearby to reconnect themselves.

This is only the first contract, and now with Super Heavy booster proving fully successful on ascent two launches in a row, I expect Starlink satellites to launch on Starship later this year.

Over the next decade the US military will gain full Joint All Domain Command and Control with the ability to hold targets at risk anywhere on the planet in near real time.

So? USA has been in this game since 80s. It is light years ahead of any trinket that China shows. Show me chinese equivalent of MIRCL, NACL, THEL and SBL? US had tested all of this in 90s early 2000s. China is nowhere close.

The point is that both China and the US can destroy each other's satellites. Anything the US can do, China can do today or in the near future, so there is no game changer.

If the US launches a swarm of LEO spy satellites over China, then China will do the same over the US and force the US to either withdraw the satellites or sign some treaty.

No. US capabilities have been proven beyond doubt. China is like its Fifth gen fighter program. we hear about it all the time but even now, its not even complete.
