Way worse than Vietnam lol. Vietnamese were peasant communists, Iranians are scientists and engineers with jihadi mindset surrounded by jihadist countries with numerous jihadists ready to fight, with numerous countries around Iran ready to supply various groups to gain influence within Iran
Itll be a WAY bigger disaster than both Vietnam and USSR in Afghanistan

It is amazing that Iran, over the years, has invested enormous effort and money in building such complex fortifications. Without seeing the pictures, it is hard to believe there are deep underground bunkers for antiship missiles.

Brother i asked a question. I know irgc has effectively taken over the country since death of khamanei. Mojtaba is injured and is being hidden and larijani was the closest thing iran had to a politician in charge of running the country. If hes dead who will takr his place? The only senior political leader left in IRI is aragachi no?

Aragachi is an FM. Which is a glorified spokesperson and diplomat.
Larijani’s replacement will be Saeed Jalili a more hardline former presidential candidate with deep ties to the establishment.
Qalibaf is another key power player , a former Air Force pilot and IRGC general and former mayor of Tehran and speaker of parliament.

But if you see Iraq and Afghanistan wars, while the wars were horrible in destructiveness, there were much fewer casualties than in Vietnam. About a tenth of Vietnam (less than 5,000 vs. more than 50,000). One important reason is, Vietnam had many draftees while modern wars have professionals. But destructive it will be. The 'nice' air attacks with laser guided munitions that make pin holes in the center of target will be replaced by the much uglier bunker busters.
