What a lovely word that. Don’t know how current it is among the younger lot.
And speaking of words, here’s something that’s been floating on my SM, a job application from the 30s apparently. Pasting a screenshot. (For those who may have forgotten since I don’t post often, as someone on the wrong side of my fifties I am an honourary member here).

Great day for painting the shed today. Was warm but the cloud cover helped a lot.
Three of four sides painted. Will finish tomorrow. Home Depot matched the base paint perfectly. The can I had the label had been painted over by the painters when the house was painted 7 years ago. Have HD a big enough sample to scan for the match.
Speaking of paint. UGH!!!! Talk about expensive now. When I painted the house we recently sold, the paint 5 years ago was exactly HALF what it cost per gallon yesterday. One gallon yesterday was $48.
Oh, needed one more 1x3. Thought I had one in the pile . Didn't. Had to go to the back of the bunker at HD to get a good one. All the ones in the front looked at if they had all been chewed on by beavers or were cracked.
Just sad.
