There is some truth in what he says. Building a trusting relationship is very difficult, and if you don't take the first step, you will never find reliable friends.

What is all this fuss about the rest of NATO from the Trump administration? The war against Iran is a war of aggression against Iran that was designed to expand "Israel's" borders. Or if we put it as it was called, it is a war for Greater "Israel".

And when Trump and Netanyahu started this war, the American leaders did not consult with the rest of NATO leaders. So why complain now if the war is not going as you envisioned?

A UN proposal by UAE to open the straits, and to authorise the use of military force could actually pass.

Can you see China vetoing that? No, just doesn't care about anything other than making money.

Same for Russia, they would not veto that either, it was Russia who approved nuclear sanctions on Iran in the first place.

Could that provide the legal framework for other countries to get involved more formally?
