Lets see. Need to look at US casualties if and when released. In terms of equipment lost, this was a disaster. In terms of an airman saved, it was a success.

You need to forgive my scepticism here, but what we are seeing is US initially down playing any losses/damages like with the E-3 only for us to find out later things were much worse that US initially reported. I am betting that happens this time too....
