1. U.S. Department of State: U.S. Secretary of State Rubio will meet NATO Secretary General Rutte today to discuss actions against Iran and strengthening coordination with NATO allies.

2. According to The New York Times: A White House official stated that Iran's 10-point peace plan released publicly on Wednesday differs from what Trump referred to as a 'viable basis for negotiations.' The White House Press Secretary is expected to clarify this at a briefing at 1 PM local time on Wednesday.

3. On April 8 local time, the UN Secretary-General's spokesperson stated that UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Middle East Conflict, Jean Arnault, has arrived in Iran. Under the direction of UN Secretary-General Guterres, he will visit multiple countries in the region to support all efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the conflict. Arnault expressed appreciation for the temporary U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement facilitated by Pakistan and other related countries. During the visit, Arnault will engage with Iranian officials to hear their views on future directions and reiterate Guterres’ commitment to making every effort to promote a peaceful resolution.

Pakistan has merely tried to provide an opportunity for peace, and the choice lies with the Epstein coalition or Iran.

I'm of the opinion that this "ceasefire" is just breathing space for the US and Israel to restock and move assets into the arena then the big show begins in the not-too-distant future. Trump will justify it as "Iran broke the ceasefire". There are numerous air assets being moved east as I write - 12x additional A-10s over the UK earlier and some Navy E-2 Hawkeye's across Spain and Italy (all public knowledge) so join the dots yourselves.

As someone mentioned up-thread, no part of these "Pakistan ceasefire" celebrations solves the Israel problem.

Trump wanted out, so the war won’t start again and Iran will hold the keys to the straits … that’s all we really need to know, Pakistanis gave Trump way out of this own mess making.

Yes, being an ally of Turkey has worked wonders for Syria.

Don't take this the wrong way, but we've never turned our backs on our true allies. This is exactly why Hindus get so upset whenever there's news about Pak-Turk relations. The Syrians are our neighbors, but calling them 'allies' is a bit of a stretch. They do whatever they want, often even going against Turkish interests. In many situations, they have chosen GCC states over Turkey. You either don't understand the real nature of this relationship, or your view of Turkey's influence in Syria is mistaken.

Most people on this forum believe that Syria is somehow aligned with Turkey. Every time Ankara has had to push them to follow what they think is the right path. They hold the Saudis in much higher regard than Turkey. We can't even enter Syria without a visa anymore. Under Assad, the border between the two countries was similar to the inner borders of the EU.

We have significant shared interests with Damascus, but we will never go to war with Israel for them. Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus, Albanians, and Bosnians are part of this very exclusive group, but Syrians are not included. Maybe this will change in the future, but for now, that’s just how it is.

The most significant divergence in our approach towards the Middle East is that nobody in Türkiye trusts anyone in this region, especially Arabs are still regarded as untrustworthy even among our religious and conservativemasses. Big difference with Iran.

Pakistani are an absolute outlier here. They enjoy respect even among hardcore Kemalists.

Israel was informed late about the U.S.–Iran ceasefire deal and was not happy about the limited consultation.

Trump called Netanyahu shortly before the announcement, and Israel agreed to join, but objected to including Lebanon in the deal.

Israel says the ceasefire applies to Iran only and continues strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Our Iranian and one Jamaican (could be Indian) friends are clearly not happy. It seems they think Pakistan brought the war upon them.

They do not like the peace proposal put forward by Pakistan, and according to current news, the Epstein coalition also does not like it.

After Pakistan worked hard to reach a ceasefire agreement, many people blamed China and Pakistan. Now it's clear, Trump said that Lebanon and Hezbollah are not included in the ceasefire.
