Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

1 IRT = 10 IRR. IRT is the abbreviation of Iranian Toman. IRR is Iranian Rial. People use IRT in Iran because it's easier.

The USD price is fluctuating between 175,000 IRT and 185,000 IRT. It was about 155,000 IRT during the war.

Yes, I am against incompetence. They switched a winning hand with this! This is not sustainable. Iran is going to become the next Venezuela soon.

On top of this. the system is turning Iran into North Korea. Iranians have been in a complete digital blackout since February 29th. That's 2 months of complete digital blackout. Millions of people have lost their jobs because of this, while food prices have increased by more than 70% in the last 2 months. So, if this situation continues, people will not be able to afford even rent and food anymore.
A moment of silence for those Pakistanis here who bought Irani currency as a investment lol. Because someone told them after Iran defeating US it will be a next super power in the region lol. Well whether Iran will defeat US or not is a different question but buying a currency like that for investment is plain stupid.

Don't be so rash. People who bought the ruble before Trump's election in 2024 would have profited handsomely if they sold a year later in 2025. Iranian currency could be in a good place in 2027 or 2028 when a deal is clinched between the US and Iran sometime this year. A deal that will include sanctions relief.

Something doesn't add up. If we are truly exporting 2 million barrels per day at $105 (average price for Iran's heavy and light crude oil products), even with a $5-$10 discount to China, then our oil revenue has already doubled compared to last year. We sold our heavy oil less than $60 per barrel before January. Why is the Iranian currency going down the toilet like never before if our main source of income has doubled? We must be hemorrhaging money somewhere. It seems that the trustees haven't been curbed at all.

Since the beginning of the presidency of Pezeshkian, USD price has increased from 50K IRT to 181K IRT. And it hasn't been a full 2 years yet. A 90% increase annually. At this rate, 1 USD will go above 600K IRT before he leaves the office.

Never listen to that friend of yours for economic advice lol

In 1979, when the revolution happened, 1 USD was fixed at 7 IRT. Now it is 182,000 IRT as we speak. A geometric average annual inflation of 29% in the span of 47 years! Definitely in top 3 worst currencies, if not the worst.

WTI price has already exceed $108 bbl. I thought you told us it had been stabilized under $100? @EugeneP It was what? 3 days ago that you said that?
It is always a fool's errand to predict future prices. However, 3 years back, WTI was above $100 for over 4 months. How many even remember that? I don't see major impact beyond small general inflation. People will economize by avoiding wastage. Oil remaining above $100 for a long time, say a few years, is an excellent training to force society to think about life when oil runs out, which it must.

I don't know. I remember WTI price went negative for a couple of days during the covid because there was a huge drop in oil consumption worldwide after the pandemic hit the planet. I don't remember lasting high oil prices since the US invasion of Iraq.

If oil prices remain high, that means higher energy prices. That means uncontrolled inflation. Impact of energy inflation is never small. It hits every sector of the economy really hard, and its impact will last for years.

She looks like shit. A totally despicable person. Weird wrinkled lips that exposes her inner rage when she listens to others speak, she looks like she's always about to cry because of her unresolved anger. She's a disbarred lawyer in Canada, apparently. I wonder what she did that cost her her license.

Amid reports about Iran’s plan to make a fresh proposal, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday rejected an Iranian offer to end the conflict, saying that the naval blockade would remain till Tehran agreed to a nuclear deal.

The US president told Axios that the blockade was “somewhat more effective than the bombing” and things would get “worse for them”.
