Pakistan Missiles - Updates, News & Discussion

These slow explosions are more destructive than those high speed explosives.
For example RDX explodes at speed of Mach 10 and mach 20 , in between.
Thats the speed of the chemical reaction inside the explosive .
So a missile hitting the target at mach 2, will have nearly 20% of its explosive power becoming directional .
And most of the destruction will be in the direction of missiles motion. More like a shaped charge .
Thats no good when trying to destroy buildings
Here is a picture of Brahmos strike on PAF hanger .

Its posted by Indians , so I can't guarantee authenticity.

But look at the strewn field., and the damage .
Its very directional

The missile impacts at a shallow angle, travelling at 2 o clock direction.
The damage is mostly towards the road and debris can be seen all the way across the road, and damage to the right hand side of the building. Again correlating with the direction of the motion of the missile.

And that's a problem with supersonic missiles.

Try the same building with a subsonic missile, and an air fuel mixture munitions, or any . The explosion will have all around effects, not in just one direction.

This is what a single Iskander with a thermoberic warhead did to a multi story concrete building in Kiev.

Burning at 2500-3500, its just melts through steel. One of them dropped among Indian airbase, the sheer temperature generated will be enough to fk up a lot of assets.

Pakistan really needs to up its game when it comes to conventional warheads. We have array of delivery systems but warheads remain a big question mark.

Not if the tank is using hedgehog armour.
Yow make a better cat and someone will make a better mouse .

Ok even if it could stop top attack ATGMS it comes at a massive cost, its essentially been turned into a ww1 era landship with a turret that can't turn, it's sight has been massively hindered completely destroying it's situational awareness and also means the crew can't easily escape in the event of a hit.

Cope Cages were found to be practically useless against javelins these hedgehoge takes are to counter FPVs

tbh my biggest critique here is the naming convention.

They've literally split Fatah into 4 distinct missile types: GMLRS, SSM BM, GLCM, and now SSCM. I get that they want Fatah to be ARFC's thing now, but I seriously don't think this was the plan -- the original Fatah-II was an extended-range Fatah-I.

At the rate they're going, they might start calling Shahed-style LMs "Fatah Munna" and stuff.

They need to split off the names across the different families.
Fatah is synonymous to Hatf series for conventional role.

What the hell is the long range precision munition. Ive heard no mention of it before.
That's probably a reference to the Tipu artillery shell.

Yes. The same issue i observed with Iranian missiles. Warheads are پھس پٹاخے

The Hatf series have different names atleast, ghauri abdali etc so you can tell that they are distinct missiles.

The Fatah was originally supposed to be just a GMLRS which the babus just expanded into name for the entire lineup of conventional weapons even though they are nothing alike.

Fatah 2 was also supposed to be a GMLRS too but it seems the babus ditched the idea and focused on the TBM

To make the naming mindfuck worse they also named the nuclear version of F2 abdali

So you have Fatah 2, Fatah 2, Abdali and Abdali all different missiles BTW
I think original Abdali (Hatf 2) is probably long decommissioned now.

Edit: come to think of it, of the legacy systems, probably Gaznavi and the Shaheen series remain as our main nuke systems. Don't know if Nasr is still active if we have Fatah II Abdali as a nuke system. Gauhri series has probably been retired too. Other systems are Babur CM and Raad/Taimoor. As for Ababeel?
