Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Like it or not you are in a ceasefire. There is 0% chance Iran tries to sink a U.S. warship during a ceasefire. Not going to happen. U.S. also knows this that’s why ships are much closer than during the war.
they didn't fire that many missiles at them to try not to hit them

When using a Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), such as the US Navy's Phalanx, the "danger" zone is extremely close—typically within 1 mile (1,600 meters) or less from the ship. CIWS is designed as a last-ditch defense against incoming missiles, meaning it engages when threats have already bypassed long-range defenses.

I think Iran fired some warning shots and this is a form of deterrence.

I don't know if CIWS were used but I do know that with an E-2D flying (which they likely had) Burkes can shoot down cruise missiles way beyond line of sight.

Iran has responded. It does now seem that the USN attack on an Iranian civilian vessel was responded to by an IRGC attack against USN ships. Mainstream media seems to be echoing the twitter claims in earnest. I don't know why some Iranians are so jittery and seem to think their forces won't respond to aggression.

Not sure if it was actually responded to properly as USA hit an Iranian ship but Iran did not hit an USA ship.

US and its gCC allies also made claims of 100% interception during 40 days clash only to be badly ridiculed by their wsj, cnn and cbs about the severe damages their 18 bases took, they are almost inoperable with close to 250 structures completely gone including radars, sams etc... Sat images provided the proofs, sadly in naval clashes we wont have sat images and believing Centcom statements alone is a joke...

Watch Scott Horton on Piers Morgan latest video. Scott is a responsible analyst and has deep knowledge of the greater Middle East region; he even knows/knew about the various Mujahideen groups during the Soviet-Afghan war--something unusual for a Western analyst. Per him, the American bases in the Middle East are all but gone as a force due to Iran's attacks on them.

Events: the US attacked an Iranian oil tanker (Iranian claim), so 3 US destroyers were attacked by Iranian missiles and drones as they exited the Strait of Hormoz (US claim).

The US intercepted all the targets and responded by hitting Iranian missile/drone launch sites, C&C and ISR targets in Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island (US claim). US insists these were self defence strikes and not a resumption of the war.

the fact three US destroyers were able to pass so close to Iran without getting hit once is not good news. we knew Iranian subsonic cruise missiles were outdated and not good enough to hit modern US ships. so much larger numbers of missiles are needed in successive waves to achieve any hits.

The ineffectiveness of Iranian anti ship missiles against the USN is now becoming a serious issue for Iran.

The US and Israel failed to achieve any of their stated objectives and the US is looking for a face saving exit. Trump may bark loudly every day, that's all he knows, but he has not attacked again. I think Iran is close to victory and will be allowed to sell its oil to the world very soon.
Pakistan is trump's offramp mechanism/route , and Pakistan is ok with that, as long as Trump pays Pakistan back "fairly" for the emergency favor given. Nothing is free.

Now it’s definitive.

Iran will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed for the next 2 or 3 decades.
Iran will not negotiate -neither with this nor the next US administration.
Iran will emerge as a regional superpower, with or without a nuclear bomb or sanctions relief.
The US has a decades long devastating stalemate on its hands.
The world will pay a hefty price for the US/IS mistakes.
The petrodollar is finished.
The UAE is finished.
US hegemony is finished.
People in the US and around the world will blame and boycott Israel.

yes, the drones and ASCMs have a negligible chance of impacting and are almost useless other than to harass the US ships

the solution is saturation. the ship's limited defences will be depleted and one will get through, and you only need one.

or a more advanced attack involving multiple attack vectors and attacking from below (torpedos), the surface (UUVs), and above (ASBMs) simultaneously

The Ed. in Chief of 'The Economist' said it would take only 4-5 years to bypass the Strait of Hormuz for oil/gas by building pipelines. But she forgot to note that those too would be susceptible to the Iranian drones and missiles AND much else critical stuff flows through the Strait then just the fossil fuel.
The uncertainty of investment returns on oil pipelines can prevent pipeline construction.

For example, Iran can open the strait at any time to turn investment in this pipeline into a net loss.

So the Iranian government needs to show flexibility, sometimes closing the strait and sometimes opening it up. This can intimidate capital that wants to invest in pipelines.

Per India's Pravin Swahney:
i2, U2 (India, Israel, UAE, USA) vs Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia is clearly emerging post war. He is not happy about India's choices but then that's Modi.
UAE will be toast if they go that route.

I can easily contradict your post but it will go off topic. Btw you're still wrong.
Well Vietnam was fought for the wrong reasons and America left battered and bruised they didn’t leave with their heads up high not knocking the soldiers who I believe most went their

i think people kind of a short term memory sometimes they said the same thing about Iranian attacks on bases throughout the Middle East or Hezbollah against Israel first couple of waves were blunted but as the days went by the missiles and drones got through difference with a naval ship only takes several waves before they connect can’t keep firing indefinitely or reloading their interceptors between multiple waves no matter what ship it is Russians may not be on the same league as the American navy anymore but whatever the Ukrainians could do the Iranians can do better in my eyes from USV to UAV to whatever missiles Iran has its disposal
