IIR is also passive, no emissions.

I think they also opted for IIR as much as possible (all conventional subsonics use it) to get scale out of it, likely an indicator that they're manufacturing it locally with high domestic content.

SMASH ASBM uses ARH in anti-ship mode. I think F2 (and future TBM variants) will continue using INS/GNSS. F3 (if a SSCM) likely uses ARH.

IIR can also be used for other cases, therefore you dont have a limited set of missiles set aside for anti rad for example. Task a fatah to take out a specific bunker, but then you can task another to take out a sam site etc, just gives you total flexibility

Missile was fired during the ongoing PAF exercise - effectively becoming part of the multi-domain operations.

This is good show of inter services integration and cohesion of operations.

If it is equipped with IR seeker, than it means that we can hunt S-400 anytime whether it is transmitting or not..

It will be babu , the young guys wont get to those ranks/positions untill and unless they themselves become babus due to the atmosphere present...

The military is filled with babus but there are still competent forward thinking people in there, for example look at how they have understood and are implementing lessons learned from Ukraine while even most western militaries are lethargic in implementing them.

They have also done a great job taking lessons from the may conflict, the scale and speed at which changes are being implemented is pretty amazing.

The issue is that for every 1 competent person there are 10 chai snorting babus who think we don't need air defences because "Hamare pas F-16 hai" And that think Jazba and Janoon are all that matter in war.

Why would they root themselves out? We are talking about institutional arrogance that predates the country itself, whenever major changes they almost always happen after they receive a kick in the balls to let the competent ones lead the way.
