Air India to cut international flights till July amid fuel surge, airspace curbs

The real hit is increase in fuel costs. There is nothing Pakistan can do about it.
The airline was already losing profit before the war, you forget reputational issues with safety, to use the flex so-called of purchasing a new fleet but ignoring supply chain issues and the usual delays.

Firstly Pakistan is geographically very small country and niether it's something like longer country like Chile that can block entire western flank of India.... we only waste fuel and time in case of flight from Delhi to Europe.... rest Mumbai, Chennai, bangalore doesn't even need Pakistan....🇨🇱

So stop behaving as if this air space closure is something magical weapon in the hands of Pakistan.... to fly to east asia, Australia, America we don't at all need your airspace even from Delhi....

It's just media and opportunists keeps highlighting such things and cry over it...

if you don't want to open airspace even on humanitarian basis keep it closed.... India can manage with that...
It wasn't me who brought up the topic of opening up airspace, right?

Indians can't try to use humanitarianism for moral coercion, and then pretend it has no effect when the coercion fails.

Let me emphasize again, when you demand something from others, you should seriously consider whether you yourself have practiced humanitarianism.

When confronted with the question of humanitarianism the response is India has its own self-interest and must pursue this.

Ok, so can any nation then.

For a long time India has been relativist in its values, very rarely absolute for a long time, and opportunistic for short-term gain. They can place themselves as self appointed leaders for one belief one day, the next day its as if it never happened

Ultimately the government policies will reflect the people.

it is funny how Pakistan continues to cause India and Indians more misery and economic damage than any weapon could in operation sindoor.........all for India only scoring couple of hits on hangers..............

I mean, it must have been worth it? right? for every Indian who wanted to fly long haul to west non-stop, Pakistan shows who is the boss.

Its the same with the Afghans to be fair, for all the terrorism afghans insist on doing, the amount of pain being inflicted on afghans through border closures, port denial, no trade etc is MASSIVE

Yet ANOTHER article written by a friendly neighbourhood Indian for the ever-neutral BBC, mentioning the problem (cancelled Gatwick-Goa direct route) but AVOIDING stating Pakistani airspace closure as the cause. The cope is hilarious.

"The axing of a direct London Gatwick-Goa Air India service has also had an impact.

Nicola, Alison and Dwayne have been visiting Goa every year for the last seven years

At a shack off Benaulim Beach north of Palolem, Nicola, a hairdresser who's come for three weeks with her friends Alison and Dwayne, told the BBC she had to do an unplanned layover in Mumbai because of the axed service, which was not convenient."

Then, of course, there is the usual contribution from 10,000 year old pangangetic civilisational behaviour:

"She said her brother chose to go to Sri Lanka instead this year.

"It's definitely more up and coming. He thought it was more affordable and also far cleaner than Goa," she said.

Dias says the government has ramped up its effort to keep the beaches litter-free, but admits that many roads leading towards them have been defaced by garbage - "not a good view", he admits, "especially for foreign tourists who are very particular about cleanliness".

Prohibitively high taxi fares as a result of the aggressive resistance of local unions to app-based services is also another "big problem", he says.

"It's like living in the Stone Age, you cannot get a taxi on your app in Goa because the local unions will confront them." "
Transportation is the least of the problems for tourism in India.

On March 1, 2024, a Spanish couple visited India. Eight Indians beat the husband and then raped the poor wife in front of him.

On March 5, 2024, the couple posted a video saying, 'India is a great country worth visiting.'

In April 2024, after leaving India, they posted a video on YouTube titled 'The Ordeal in India.' They said their previous praise of India was forced. The Indian government compensated them $12,000.

The biggest issue with Air India is their customer service which is a legacy of government employee unions. Over time, I would expect that to improve

What supply chain? Boeing and Airbus are delivering jets on time.

New fleet matters. It cost $100 billion to purchase 500 jetliners. Air India safety record is a lot better for a third world airline. The 787 crash last year looks like a suicide

Dude, the Indian airline sucks. Absolutely sucks.

Air India sucks. That is a completely different topic for discussion

We are talking about the viability of the company. Air India is not looking at survival compared to PIA

Don't even compare Air India with PIA. PIA has great history. It has setup some of the biggest airlines in the world. PIA has the potential of bouncing back. In fact that is likely now that Pakistan has friction with the UAE.

If you remember few years back PIA wasn't even allowed to fly over European countries due to their safety standards.... today you're trying to sell it and you compare PIA with Air India?

PIA was intentionally mismanaged by crooks.

Here you go again. Bringing Pakistan into everything and when you get infractions - you say i dont like you. You are correct - im not your biggest fan but do try for once to stick to the topic without veering off on one.

"Saaaaar, 4 trillion dallar ecanamy will absorb pressure!"
Air India is a private Company. The loss or profit is headache of Tata Group. Also Air India has market share of only 25% in indian Aviation industry.

Has any one forced you to fly Air India ! How exactly does it concerns you ? Is it the name ?
