Afghans themselves have 34 provinces

Seriously, Rawalpindi will never get similar opportunity/good publicity at world stage it is enjoying now.

A Nuclear State can't be blackmailed any further by waderas and few political families

Time to do is NOW!!

Locally, PPP is the only obstacle here.

Not a fan of this idea in general
Punjab is doing fine as is, dividing it further would only lead to more mini sindhs and fuedalism
That's the case in every province
Northern KPK keeps the southern weirdos in check
Northern Punjab outweighs the power of fuedal elites of South Punjab thus keeping them in check
Northern Balochistan keeps Baloch nationalism from gaining too much ground

It only doesn't work in Sindh because fuedals have more power than the city folks

We need to find a solution for Sindh by giving power and resources to metros
Do that in other provinces too

But you don't need to create new provinces.

Keep doing what has not worked in some 70+ years. Great idea!!

In that case why not just have the One Unit model and do away with provinces?

I am sorry but i believe there is zero to minimum feudalism in Northern Punjab. Feudalism is a by-product of poor regions across Pakistan including South Punjab,, Inner Sindh and parts of KPK and Balochistan. But people in North of Punjab mostly do issue based politics

KPK is a very small province by land. Its not even 15% of Pakistans landmass (including FATA region). Splitting it doesn't make any sense.

We should be looking at 3 provinces from baluchistan, 3 from sindh (ome being karachi), and 3 from Punjab.

The hazara region in KPK CAN BE shifted to Karakoram province.

And no need for putting Gwadar into federal. It will be good being its own province with 100,000 square km landmass.

We need new provinces but anything above 10 will bring issues of its own. We are facing water scarcity. You will have to renegotiate water distribution quota among these provinces , royalties for extracted minerals, borders, new administrative units in new provinces.

All this is going to cost alot. Even a simple merger of FATA with KPK sas expected to cost more than 400 billion.

parts of KPK

No feudal system in KPK, as far as I have observed. But there are other issues, such as some regions put too much emphasize on jirga system (even in criminal cases). This shouldn't be the case. Jirga may try in helping resolve civil cases but all the criminal cases (big or small) should go through the legal system established by constitution of Pakistan.

Other then this, I dont see malik/khan/wadera/sardar issue in KPK. Nobody is bothered about them.

Not sure what the motive is behind this move, but if Karachi legitimately gets federal status and without the interference which usually sees dead Bhuttos/Zardari running a mafia franchise, then more power to the powers that be...but knowing their track record, don't see the Bhutto/Zardari mafia families collusion with mil-establishment to destroy karachi going away anytime soon.

Every province has to take at least one split (punjab ideally 3) at the same time - otherwise somebody and their mother is going to complain nonstop

Jinnah should've added in his famous 14 points, Karachi ko Sindh se Aledha kiya jaye... but i don't have high hopes for this as we have seen the excitement built up for creation of new provinces but nothing ever materialized.

Punjab can easily be divided into 2 at least with South Punjab, Baluchistan can be divided into 3 for better administration, KPK is mountainous but not big so you can have 2-3 out of it too, same with Sindh, easily carve out 3 from it with 1 Karachi being its own regulated by Federal Govt.

india and afg are now irrelevant and cannot harm Pakistan.

We need to eliminate corruption and rid of dynastic and feudal system/families first. Everything else will fall into place
