The comments are hilarious. Thank goodness, Vietnamese leadership has always been pragmatic. We don't run around trying to antagonize the world's most powerful country in any means. We don't support any ideology, military, or economic front aimed at attacking their interests. Our non-negotiable red line is always territory (not economy or ideology b.s) and U.S forces left Viet Nam many decades ago, and that's more than enough for us to have a normalized relationship with the U.S. Back when the 1972 peace treaty was signed, the U.S even agreed to pay North Viet Nam $4 billion dollars for war reparations, but since unification happened in 1975, the U.S considered that as a violation of the peace treaty terms so they wouldn't pay and the unified Viet Nam is not nagging about it either.

Why you people still have deep paranoia about China all the time ? I have one solution for you guys, all Vietnamese together just paddle the landmass of Vietnam across the Pacific Ocean to the coast of California or across the Pacific then the Arctic passage to northern Europe coast. Then all your problems will be solved.

I don't know about deep paranoia, but Vietnam certainly has every right to be wary of any aggressors and should arm itself accordingly.

The MAGA has become the neocon, and they don't trust the Vietcong for not being 100% loyal to the US.

Yeah, you better to be careful about the mid-range missiles, since China can easily intercept those obsolete missiles, but it poses a threat to Vietnam.
