Old Man's Corners

Well folks, got a good one for you today.

Another night in the ER last night. Nope, not me this time. Mrs. AZ.

Managed to break her leg while playing pickleball. Fracture of the fibula, two of the tibia.

ER folks set the bones and put her in a splint. She will be calling for an appointment this morning with the orthopedic specialist. Surgery will be required.

The irony? We were in the very same room I was in back in January.

Thought there wasn't any tackling in pickleball?

Potassium and phosphorus, the two main ingredients to rebuild broken bones.

The Mrs. like carrot juice and bananas?

She's not a carrot juice fan but eats bananas daily.

The ER doc was very clear: no way around it. Surgery. Which brings me to the latest update.

We see the orthopedic specialist next Weds. They like to let everything set for 7 days minimum for the injury to reduce before they take additional x-rays and determine when they can perform surgery.

The upside is she will be fitted for a walking cast. She's actually thinking about trying to drive with her left foot.

Got rain up here this afternoon. Not much and not for long. It's building up again as if we may get more later.

The weather babes said we wouldn't. At most, just cloudy skies.

Regardless, we're happy. It's 89F here. 108F in PHX.

Been there, done that.

Passengers will have to ride in the back.
