To make the cat fall, you must cut rope B.

The horizontal beam is a lever with a central pivot. The cat's weight is pushing down on the right side, which is currently balanced by rope B pulling down on the left side. Rope A and rope C are simply attached to the right side of the beam and the main post; they don't actually support the cat's weight or the beam's position in this configuration.
Once rope B is cut, the weight of the cat will cause the right side of the beam to tilt downward, sending the cat for a tumble.

Edmonton is acting like the Arizona Cardinals of the NHL. Babcock is a good coach overall so this will be interesting. Still wondering why Edmonton didn't look at Pete DeBoer or Bruce Cassidy. Cassidy though may still be blocked by VGK. He was fired but they are still paying him.
