FIFA World Cup 2026

To the credit of the English, they have improved massively compared to the much overrated "Golden Generation" of the past who did not achieve anything in World Cups or EURO's despite all the hype. Even though England did not win anything yet, take a look at their tournament results since 2018. It is like day and night.

They have a very strong squad and can beat anyone on a good day. Especially with a healthy Kane that is having the season of his life.

I know from Arab-British acquaintances and distant relatives in London, that the young lot are now no longer making fun of the national team. From what I am aware of, the English FA have also completely turned around their approach to talent work, improved facilities and tried to copy the German, French and Spanish models.

It shows because they have a lot of talents around. Mostly Afro-British (like most football teams - they tend to dominate due to their superior athleticism on average) but not only.

The prospect of England winning the World Cup for the first time in 60 years and it "coming home" is no longer a laughing matter.

Tuchel is a great cup manager. I know that some English nationalists had the fact that they have a German manager but IMO, he is better than any British alternative.

Proven winner in Chelsea, PSG and before that Dortmund. Pragmatic but this is the way to win such tournaments historically when the difference in strength between the top, top teams, is this small and details and luck tend to be the deciding factor.

So far, the main disappointments for me are Spain and Portugal. Appalling performances from both - 2 of the main favorites.

Not surprise that Brazil had problems with Morocco (one of the underdogs and the strongest Arab team by far). They are a shadow of what they once were. Embarrassing for football crazy nation of over 200 million people. Not 1 single Brazilian player would start for the 2002 team for instance.

England will choke. They most certainly always do.

Wife: Where are you going?
Husband: Watch the game at the pub.
Wife: Why don't you watch it with me?
Husband: I want to watch it with my friends.
Wife: So I mean nothing to you?
Husband: OK, OK. I am staying.
Wife: Why is the goalkeeper in black?
Husband: He is mourning his mother.
Wife: The commentator how does he know all the names?
Husband: It's his job.
Wife: There's a goal.
Husband: No, it's an offside.
Wife: What is offside?
Husband: No, it's a goal. Just kidding.
Wife: OK, but what is offside?
Husband: Offside is the name of the Coach.
Wife: Where's the Coach?
Husband: He is off the field.
Wife: Why isn't he playing?
Husband: No, he doesn't play. He changes the players and the game tactics.
Wife: Tell me, is Maradona there?
Husband: No, he died.
Wife: Oh my God, how?
Husband: He watched a game with his wife

Portugal need to drop Ronaldo and put him on the bench if they are serious about winning the tournament. Hes not the same Ronaldo and yesterday he was simply a shadow
He was double teamed

Nuh uh
He actually isn’t , when he visited Israel he also went to Palestine
Messi has absolutely no political affinity. He hardly, at least I have never read about ir or ever heard him speak about internal Argentinian politics, let alone politics in West Asia that he has no connection to and likely no great interest in. He is as likely to be some kind of imaginary "Zionist" as you are.

He and the entire Inter Miami team visited the White House because they won the MLS last season. Every team that wins a championship in the US, whether NFL, NBA, NHL etc. are invited to the White House to "celebrate" the championship.

Footballers have no choice when their clubs venture out for training camps or are invited to play in country x or y.

All of those photos are from FC Barcelona's visit to Palestine/Israel back in 2013.

The guy, to this, day, let alone back in 2013, barely speaks/spoke English too. He only spoke/speaks Spanish.

The idea that Messi is somehow pro-Israel and C. Ronaldo pro-Palestine is beyond ridiculous.

Both likely do not care and have no clues.

C. Ronaldo has lived in an Arab country (KSA) for almost 4 years now. Never heard him talk about Palestine. He has played in numerous Arab countries as well for his club team (Al-Nassr). Maybe I have missed this but in any case, I highly doubt that Messi is a Zionist, lol.

On the contrary there is a huge Arab community in Argentina. Around 5-10% of all Argentinians are Arab-Argentinians. Many of them are Muslims as well.

Some sources claim up to 10% (5 million people):

Much more likely that he has had engagements with Arab-Argentinians than with any Jews let alone Zionists. Same goes for Barcelona which is home to a large Arab community while there are barely any Jews around.
