I doubt this is a big deal. Expensive electricity is usually the biggest reason countries, including in Europe, stay away from A/C.

Expensive gasoline, expensive natural gas, expensive electricity..what a continent!

It's the principle more than the cost. Although this summer i've found that you can have something called R290 units which are DIY'able.

There is a saying: if the cow feels too happy, it goes ice skiing.
If people have money but nothing to do they become lazy, they invent worthless things, worthless laws, worthless genders, worthless politicians. Europe becomes a communist paradise. Nothing works, nothing progressing.
Communism works in Vietnam, China and maybe North Korea. It will never work in Europe.

My stupid home ac doesn't work properly I have it set to 65 Fahrenheit and the bloody thing goes down to 63 plaguing me with sniffles and a wet nose when I wake up in the morning, I can catch pneumonia from all this coolness inside my house you know.

Time for a good repairs or replacement.
Get someone reliable and who knows what they’re doing.

He isn’t serious. Nobody sets their temp to 65F (18.3C) at night unless they want to wake up like a popsicle. Even a super cold mall or supermarket isn’t that low.

It was meant as a dig/jest for them to see me complaining about the coolness of my house while they bake over there. Having said that I do have the ac at 65F as the upstairs rooms are warmer than 1st floor of house but I don't sleep with ac on I just cool the room before bed.
