Violation of VAR protocol, and red card that should have never been given in the first place. It’s the correct decision

Sorry that's incorrect. It was a red card, definitely. The issue was that the referees and VAR breached standard protocol. Balogun is cleared on technical grounds to play but his red card stands. I'm rooting for USA as a host nation as much as the next man, but let's not be so blinkered as to excuse dangerous play that could have easily broken a leg.
Just watched it again. Definitely red card. Im shocked that the white house may have intervened. Only in America - this is another stain on the world cup. FIFA ought to be ashamed.

Again, the red card was correct, the protocol was wrong. If you read FIFA's actual statement instead of these oversimplified Twitter posts, it makes it clear that the punishment is merely suspended for a year. There is no rescinding of the red card itself.

Not only are you a defence expert - now you are a football expert? Your posts are often reported coz you are so on a different planet. VAR has the advantage of slow motion and watching things carefully. We can all see it was a really bad late challenge.
Only you see it different. Give it a rest -
Its the wrong decision and a stain on the World Cup

man it was a clear red

Thierry and Zlatan both agree it was NOT a red.

But I’m not the only one that sees it different ……see my previous post. An it’s okay to a have a differing opinion. That shouldn’t be a punishable offense.

FIFA got it right here, after all the Ronaldo red card suspension certainly set the precedent.

thats not the problem

the problem is the fucking POTUS calling infantino like his little bitch and telling him to remove the red card

Again you have heard what you want to hear.

Zlatan said "he should not get a red card". How does this imply whether Zlatan is criticising the incorrect process or the red card itself? You cannot make the inference from this statement alone. I'm happy to be corrected if you can provide Zlatan's full commentary where he specifically says the tackle was not worthy of a red card - in which case I would accept he has said this but will continue to disagree with him.

Studs up on the ankle is dangerous play, regardless of intent. In other words, even if Balogun didn't mean to tackle in this way, it is still studs up on the ankle and is still dangerous play and red cardable. In the Premier League, players get red cards for this regularly.
