This GMLRS isn't even in service, that's basically A300. Why create two different missiles just 100km range difference.

I think our BM inventory is quite dated and not many in numbers, also untested against modern defences...

Without a huge inventory of both SRBMs and IRBMs we don't have much of a deterrent then.

If Indians attack us tomorrow again, how on earth do we retaliate in a meaningful manner?

Pakistan's missile program is primarily built focusing India. Shaheen-3s were built to hit the farthest corner of India and not much needed. We might have 100s of shaheen 1 but only 10 to 20 Shaheen-3. That's my personal assessment.

I think we never procured any weapon system considering Israel. Also shaheen -3 is primarily for nuclear strike. Using it for conventional hits would be extremely expensive. As you are going to waste a millions dollar missile (almost a space rocket) on a single target and given Israel's air defence that could be intercepted.

If Israel vs Pakistan ever happened (unlikely though). Then our best chance is air launched missiles. We already have Taimur missiles (600 KM) that can be launched via JF-17s, J-10Cs. So fighter jets would be refueled over Iran and they will travel till end of Iraq and release their payload and return. This is most efficient way for sustained combat operations. We can definitely developed longer range air launched weapons with upto 1000 KM ranges and can hit Israel from even safer distance. J-35 would really help in strike missions too.

Ballistic missiles are normally used for conventional hits by country who don't have an airforce like Iran. They never invested in their airforce due to sanctions / restrictions. Now any airforce can fly over Tehran without contest. We on other hand are already spending billions of dollars on our airforce, and it gives us capability for both defense and offence.

100's of Shaheen 1? Are you crazy? we'd be lucky if we have 50! Likely, all shaheen series combined wouldn't reach even ONE hundred, let alone several hundred of shaheen 1 only!

As you said yourself, shaheens are for nuke strike. Of course actual number of missiles would be confidential but if you have any doubt, just think how many total nukes we have??
Then divide that number across shaheen 1, 2, 3, ababeel, Ghauri , Nasr, Babur, not to mention even earlier Hatf, ghaznavi, abdali , etc. etc. all of which were made for nuke strikes.

Ballistic or cruise Missiles for conventional use are more recent development, so versions of babur, raad, fatah, abdali, taimur, Zarb, etc. etc. But numbers of those all would also be small for now.

True. Don't focus too much on "..might have 100s of shaheen-1". I only stated the max higher limit of possible inventory. Most likely their numbers could be much less in double digit. But again nobody in public domain knows the actual count.
I already mentioned how expensive is to use large BMs for conventional strikes. CMs, short range BMs (Fatah 1/IIs) and air launched weapons are our conventional strike means.
