Not really. Iran got its ships out. So it can start the clock all over again and has 2-3 months of time. Meanwhile US SPIR does not have 2-3 months of time.

Iran realized Trump was planning to keep a low intensity war till Mid terms then ramp back up. Now Iran is going to keep the war going till Mid terms and cause major losses to Republican Party. The same tactic they did to Jimmy Crater who lost his re election bid.

The short term possible compromise is that Iran-US jointly control Hormuz and share the fee. I’m not sure if hardliners in Iran will accept that, but Trump always floated that idea back in March.

It's good that Trump demands 20% toll. When US leaves, Iran can tell the rest of the countries you accepted 20% toll, we're just demanding 5%, we're 4 times cheaper.

With respect, this is ridiculous. The fault for the current conflagration lies squarely at the planning desks in Tel Aviv.

Iranians attacked the vessels because Tel Aviv wanted to scuttle the MOU? Well the MOU is now skuttled.

You will recall Tehran's insistence on an IDF withdrawal in Lebanon, which Israel disregarded entirely. Lebanese were dying and Tehran declared breach of terms. Events on th SoH specifically cannot be viewed in isolation.

Tel Aviv knows exactly what it is doing.

How has it helped Lebanon or Iran? The terms are no more.
