Unfortunately, the south of Iran is pretty flat compared to the rest of the Iranian plateau. Most of our mountains are in the west and the north.I am much more optimistic. Yes US entered inside Irán and operated during hours, but the landing finished in a complete failure with more than half dozen aircrafts destroyed.
Even US personnel said that every Iranian with a weapon was shooting them. And that would make things extraordinary difficult to them. This kind of numantine resistance can be mixed with all propaganda apparatus just to tell them that US is the invader, and their interest relies just in oíl that can be easily traded vía international commerce.
Irán is not Irak. There are high mountains, and a lot of short range missiles like Fath360 and drones enough for make indirect fire support literally hundreds of kilometers away. Much more than Ukraine, whose military didn't have that awesome conventional ballistic missile force.
"Civilian" is the key word here. If Iran hits civilian targets of other countries then all Iranian civilian targets are fair game. Its the same as US warships hitting any tankers or ships heading for Iran - a move to try and control the SOH. A ship cant be classified as "civilian infrastructure" but it is a civilian vessel.
Clearly Iran hit something significant. Saudi Govt Air Ambulance air lifting someone out of Kuwait City.Very bad news for Kuwait, I think something like 95% of their water comes from Desalination.
If this continues there will be a rush on bottled water, if that is not already happening.
You will now have images of KAF C-130s flying in water.
This will not go down well with GCC....

Hopefully, the same is awaiting Bahrain, Qatar and eventually the Emirates.Very bad news for Kuwait, I think something like 95% of their water comes from Desalination.

Needless to say, Iran attacking a US aircraft carrier would result in massive outrage in the states, would actually harden domestic opinions regarding the war and galvanize support against Iran mong NATO members.

They should remember their own proverb that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
I suppose I am the only voice of reason here right now...Lets say a projectile hits a carrier and 30 odd military sailors are killed
