In reality, the JF-17 simply cannot take advantage of the PL-15's 200-kilometer range. The JF-17's lock-on range against typical fighter-sized targets is only 150 kilometers, whereas the J-10C, by comparison, has a lock-on range of 240 kilometers.

It's just over 170kms for klj7A not 150.

I know how AEWACS works and what is their functioning. I was questioning the need for them. Because Armenia at its widest point is just 170 km wide. JF17B3 radar have range of 150 km. Do azerbaijan really need to spend $2 billion of 4 AEWACS which will be flying not far than 50-100 km away from its JF17s ? Because even Azerbaijan is a small country with no major depth for aewacs.

They dont really need to buy AWACs. There are ground radars too which can feed data through the data link.

So far in the first six years of this decade, Pakistan Air Force has inducted 49 new JF-17 Thunders, 20 new J-10C Indus Dragons, and thousands of drones in different categories of all shapes and sizes including Bayraktar Akinci and CAIG Wing Loong.

We have no proof of thousands of drones being inducted. Yes we did see many examples, but none of them is confirmed to be produced or acquired in quantities more than 10.

Sorry, I stand corrected.

• 14 Block-2B aircraft (however, these were produced in 2020, so they fall within the previous decade).
• 15 Block-3 aircraft produced in 2022.
• 6 Block-3 aircraft produced in 2023 (could be more).

We don't yet have the acquisition data for the PAF covering 2024–2026.

PAC has become extremely secretive since the new government took office in February 2024. Or, I would say, since the attempted coup on 9 May 2023.

That's most hilarious line in this thread. I won't digest a immoral political propaganda on JF-17 thread without setting the record straight.

Whole planet knows the soft coup was done on 2022, MNAs on run, hiding (both who wanted to avoid military capturing them and ones who agreed to vote to avoid jail). Even judges weren't spared by military. VNC in Pakistan in IMPOSSIBLE without military intervention. THAT IS CALLED soft COUP. when military intervention threw a govt and installed new set of puppets who effectively have destroyed economy & security of the country in last 4 years.

For 9th may 2023, its basic / common sense:

1- Who benefited from it most? Who got the licence to do unlimited crackdown, throw leaders into jails and brute force any political threat.
2- Who triggered the event? Who felt the need to trigger the nation by rangers storming into the court and grabbing and arresting a popular leader.

3- Also remember, it was a political party who wanted everything to happen with law and order and according to constitution. They knew they can win an election. They would NEVER deliberately do such a thing.

4- How many RPGs, / guns / weapons did the perpetrators used for this "coup". Lowest IQ people would call outburst of a nation as a "coup" attempt. BTW, no one in their right mind can really outgun the military with one or two generals even supposedly onboard. Did they try arresting COAS or something lol.

Lastly, people of Pakistan knows what happened in last 4-5 years. Military threw a govt and installed new one that's it. There's nothing hiding in it. No amount of silly propaganda can twist the reality of how things happen in Pakistan.

They also said all JF17 Fighter jets are grounded. Are we supposed to take their sources serious now ?

We may have 5000 drones. Or we may have less than 100. The point is, we dont know.
