Poor IRIAF...
This aircraft it is not Yak130M. It doesn´t have even radar...
Also... that is not Mehrabad... it is another air base. It should be blurried to avoid geolocalization.
Glad to see they have operative some Yaks. They´re beautiful. Just odd to see how their colours...

Nothing new. But westeners are taking a bit of attention over HESA Simorgh.

While I cannot talk about the credibility of this defense newsite... According to this article by July 2026 between 19 and 20 Su35 have been assembled and they're storaged accordingly to be delivered when Hamedan 3 Group Air base would be repaired.

Hope It is true. That's a lot of aircrafts and any open source satellite picture over Komsomolsk FAL would easily proof it.

What good are 20 obsolete air superiority fights, which likely won't even have medium range AAMs delivered with them? And 2027 now? russia will just keep delaying the delivery as they always have in the past.

The radar in the Su35SM is PESA. It was not top nocht but enough range to detect any F16 from far distance.

AFAIK IRIAF has purchased also R37M missiles that are far more range than AIM120.

F-35s are the concern and the Su-35 simply cannot counter it. And purchasing something from russia and getting it delivered are a vast gulf apart. Those R37s will never come.

So assuming you're telling the truth and Su35 is "completely useless" against F35, that means that Su35 is useful against F16/18/15, Kc135, E3, Ah64, MH60S, UH60 and MH60R among many others (C130, G550, etc.), isn't?.

Finally, Su35 is not useless against F35.
Su35 has special configurations, specifically designed to track and attack F35. L band radars are unique among others fighters around the world of 4.5 gen series.

And you're wrong again. Su35 of 2006 is not the Su35 on 2026. It may incorporate improvements in radar, avionics and engines. All fighters evolve. And Su35 also (Su35SM2).

One squadron of 20-30 cannot cover a nation the size of eastern europe. Plus you act like these won't be high priority targets to be destroyed on the ground.

At what range can it detect a low rcs aircraft like an F-35? And is that range higher than the range of an Aim-120? If not, then it's useless.

It is a simple problem, can an Su-35 lock and launch on an F-35 first or the other way around?

They just need to cover western Iran and parts of Iraq where Israelis are shooting ALBMs from. But 20-30 is still not enough and they won’t last long without the rest of the infrastructure we don’t have
