Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

I'm sorry but the pact with Somalia gave us an Egyptian base there and the deployment of hundreds of egyptian soldiers ..
Thats very significant for us, somalia and ethiopia are 2 very important countries for egypt.
And about your alliance with saudia , good for u guys , i like pakistan and its ppl and i hope no pakistani dies there for the sake of the saudi throne.
I hope Egypt partners up with some trained Somalis and nips that Somaliland-Israel nexus in the bud. Egypt has challenges on every single one of its borders.

From the comment:
Saudi Arabia has plenty of money (or, at least plenty of access to credit), lots of weaponry, but a pathetic army.
Turkey is a financial mes
s, but still has a vibrant technology center and a diversified economy, along with a large, modern military.
Pakistan is an economic mess, but they have one of the best professional armies in the world, formidable intelligence, and nukes.
The enemies were in a "Disco Diwana" mode assuming these adverse conditions to be perennial! If they start getting corrected to some extent they'll fall into a collective clinical-level depression...

I just don't understand why some people are picking online fight with Egyptian members.

It's OK if Egypt is not part of the agreement, or even if it does not have strategic relation with Pakistan we are at least not the enemy as nations and states.

At this point in time of history what matter most is the political stability, and economic progress in every Muslim country and this is the most important thing.

I don't know why people don't understand policy of active hostility towards Israel is not what Egypt could afford do hey want Egypt to go towards the direction of Libia, or Syria or Iraq ???

Some people may have difference of opinion but they need to understand one thing as said by former President of Egypt "Egypt could fight war with Israel but not with America" this is the sad truth for every Muslim country including Iran.

As long as Egypt is economically and politically stable there is a hope for the future.

Yeah Egyptians got to look out for Egyptians first and foremost. Egypt over the last decade has already received a lot of financial support from the GCC especially Saudi. Its not like Egypt will get more by joining this pact. Im not sure about the position of the president of Egypt and how legitimate he is according to his own people and how long he will stay in power so he probably has more things to worry about than going to war.

Nevertheless like NATO, countries can join further down the line like any alliance and if i had to put my money down, Id say Egypt and Jordan do join sometime down the line.

My note: Pakistan needs some tacit support from China to put Bharat at bay during the time of kinetic engagement. During lull periods every support is welcome....

With the backing(and assuming the same interoperability and commonality as that of NATO in the future) of KSA and Turkey...and a true article 5 type of clause(as in they will really show up when called upon)...with that Pakistan wouldn't need strategic depth. Instead it would be able to sustain a long term war with India on an even footing.

In context of indo Pak conflict(s), this can add to deterrence against indian stupid misadventures. indian planners now will have to take into account repercussions and consequences before committing to any short term skirmish, in any case they should have learned their lessons by now, but still attacking Pakistan to procure more domestic votes or to please the domestic nutjobs, will be difficult. Pakistan won't need the manpower for small scale conflicts (or even for a full scale war) but any threats of blockades or destroying port cities will now remain wet dreams.

Those who question whether Saudi Arabia or Türkiye will fight India to defend Pakistan, they don't need to.

Exactly. This only adds to complicate things for indian planners.

In that case, is India going to attack those two countries?

Not unless they wish to see oil shortages and millions returning back to home jobless.

Pakistan has basically put an end to indian stupidity that we witnessed in 2019 and 2025. No more misadventures and threats. If they wish to fight, they will face a lot more consequences now.

Amazing. Both China and the US have officially welcomed the Defence Pact.
We should distinguish between "diplomatic etiquette" and "true attitude." If the "true attitude" of China and the United States is genuine support for this agreement, then this is not good news for all three countries.

There is room for Egypt and others to be invited onto this platform. May take time but the defense pact benefits could be enormous

Egypt is far too vulnerable right now. The the zionists/mossad would not allow it and i dont think the egyption state is strong enough to counter their instigations and potential assassinations. I still remember the coup against Morsi for example.

If you look at how the isrealis were able to assassinate countless Iranian leaders and military men, it would be a thousand times easier for them to do it to Egypt.

From the Isreali perspective they cannot allow egypt to join such a pact, the juice are already in dire straights seeing the Turkish army moving incrementally across Syria. Losing Egypt towards Turkiye would be a disaster scenario for them. Add to the fact that north Cyprus is home to about 30k Turkish troops too, basically a noose is being applied around the Zionist neck.

If indeed egypt does want to join because realistically its an actual alliance that could form into something important, its best it stays secret for a while until Turkiye, Pakistan and Saudi can deploy in egypt in a serious way to fend off any isreali instigations.

If a deal is made with egypt, it should remain secret for at least 5 years.

This would also add to Pakistan's soft power in a way. India will have to consider the possibility of a total oil blockade from the middle east. KSA holds considerable sway with GCC(except maybe UAE) and together both KSA and Pakistan will be able to block(and sink if need be) any ships bound for India.

The only worry for Saudis is spying indians working in their countries.

Pakistan may now get a bit more of usual support to respond to any indian aggression, which I believe has become a pipe dream now. Diplomatic support for issues like Kashmir and water. Middle East is a greater mess.

india itself is going through internal problems, some places strife, the bubble has finally burst.

Thankfully the arabs of KSA have been proactive here...all top government jobs are held by Arabs. Yes they have sufficient numbers of Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, etc. but they don't(or can't?) hold top government jobs as far as I know. So any spying would be severely limited.

Interesting spin by Trump to frame this as some sort of US victory. No doubt this statement is geared towards the domestic audience and disgruntled elements within the US security establishment. Trump has an eye on the midterms. Another clue is Vance trying to distance himself from the decision making leading up to the US's current predicament, and even tap into the anti-AIPAC sentiment being championed by folks like Marjorie Greene on the right (unheard of in the post-Nixon era of US politics).

Trump is Trump. Taking credit all the time. And you are right: 'domestic audience'. But a puzzling thought in my mind remains for more than a year: What did Trump-Munir discuss in the so-called 'private lunch' last year? There are very few clues, if any, but Trump did say something like 'Munir is not liking it' (referring to the then attack on Iran). I think Pakistan had been given some space in the Middle East but the recent war on Iran has made the space much bigger, whether Trump likes it or not.

However, objectively speaking this represents a strategic defeat for the US. If there is one region in the world that is purely zero sum, it is the Middle East. You do not cede strategic space here, except through coercion. And ceding space to a trio of middle powers would be unthinkable just a decade ago. Basically, this is tantamount to the US admitting that it is no longer the sole power broker in the region. No great power would take such a step unless compelled to do so - US is clearly in damage control mode.
The Petro Dollar itself is under threat--grave threat!
The other major implication is that the GCC countries have finally understood that the world is multi-polar now. The illusion of US military dominance as well as political acumen in managing the ME crises has taken a major hit. US is also showing its limits under pressure in Europe and even in the Korean theatre. You might even see attempts at North/South Korea reproachment (followed by Trump taking the credit lol). A Turkey-Saudi agreement was already under consideration for last few years, but the bombing of Qatar by Israel was a wakeup call which injected some urgency. The structure in place now represents a belated recognition of the ground reality. If the US is unable to deliver on its security commitments and can easily be manipulated by Israel at the expense of GCC security, then it is effectively creating a strategic vacuum which will be filled by other great powers. This is also China's moment to say 'we told you so'.

The Israeli attack on Qatar was a huge mistake. It was such a mistake that even Netanyahu was made to apologize to Qatar.

Your post overall was very good! I'd add to that it is the irrationality in the American foreign policy in the Middle East which is becoming American's undoing in that region. When you have 20% of your Messianic population and a large MIA driving your policy then you have the maniacs like Netanyahu directs wrong policies like letting Israel to expand its territory and to wage a self-destructive war like that on Iran. This irrationality is what Mark Slobeda has talked about.

Highly unlikely. Egypt won't be able to join any alliance for the same reason it wasn't able to join the Türkiye, Saudi and Pakistan pact. Unless Egypt has explicit permission from the US and Israel.

If true, then implicitly this alliance of the three nations doesn't really have Washington's backing regardless of what Trump says.
