Long Amtrak Train Trip Starting 26 August!

I've recorded 2.7 Mbps both up and down. Free and easy to connect. Very nice of Amtrak unlike cruise lines who nickel and dime.

How has the wifi connection been on the train ? Seems it did start on time?

$9.50 for coffee and Egg and cheese bagel....hmm I guess the price is ok they could have charges a LOT more for a captive audience, so I appreciate it. Unlike when I recently went to see The Odyssey at an AMC cinema chain and was charged $8.98 for a large soda

The prices are very reasonable on the train!

My American geography is poor. Is this part of the Appalachian trail?

I'm in Charlottesville, VA station. It's not high Appalachian Mountains... maybe hills. No AT trail here that I know.
The train was half empty when started but after entering Virginia filling up. Vast majority seems like African American. That was the case when I took this train in 2004 as well. Yup after 22 years I'm finally on Amtrak.

At the Washington DC station for a 45 minutes stop to change the locomotive engine from Diesel to Electric. Also I saw the fabulous Acela train leaving. People are getting smoke break but I smell more than cigarettes: Weed!

I was looking at amtrak routes from Tampa, its gonna be a long trip if i to take one, i would prefer traveling via plane, saves time/money and you are not as tired when you arrive at your destination, but road/train trips has their own thrill and fun.
