I thought China was supposed to be competing with the best of the West and East Asia. Why suddenly lower the benchmark? lol
The MoD report gives several rather important technical details together:
- Indigenous GaN MMIC technology has been demonstrated and implemented for applications up to X-band.
- A single indigenous GaN chip is only 3.5 × 3 mm and can deliver up to 30 W.
- DRDO has indigenously designed/fabricated S-band GaN HEMT power bars, power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers and switch MMICs.
- SSPL has developed 4-inch SiC wafer growth/manufacturing processes.
- The broader technology base has demonstrated GaN HEMTs up to 150 W and...
Both have populations of around 1.4 billion, and they once started from roughly the same starting line.
Calling India a “
middle power” is simply a way for you to avoid comparing India with China because you are ashamed to do so.
And because you are jealous that China has developed better than India, you resort to the convenient tactic of using other countries to belittle China.
But you are wrong. China has always described itself as a developing country, while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly said that India is on its way to
becoming a superpower. Modi has also said that India is a
Vishwaguru (world teacher).
So it is India that should be competing with the strongest countries in the West and East Asia.
Why not ask India, this Vishwaguru (world teacher), to teach us in Taiwan how to develop next-generation chip process technology? 
China has had little choice but to rely largely on its own efforts to develop its semiconductor industry because of external restrictions. Does India face the same predicament?
Yet overall, China’s semiconductor industry chain is clearly more mature than India’s, and the gap is not small.
Now look back at the current state of India’s semiconductor industry. The country you should be laughing at is not China. You should be crying over the slow development of your own country.
In semiconductors, India, this supposed superpower, is even behind Taiwan. No wonder TSMC from Taiwan chose to build fabs in Japan and Germany while avoiding India...
In fact, in 2025, the Indian government invited TSMC to establish a fab in India, but TSMC rejected the invitation...
As for the reason for the rejection, it is probably the same reason why Tesla has repeatedly refused to establish manufacturing plants in India.

China has long been surrounded and restrained by the Western world, yet today it leads the world in many fields.
India has received support from the Western world, yet it has fallen far behind China in development.

So, what exactly does the future superpower India have to show for itself right now?
Yes, because of Western containment and restrictions, China has been forced to compete with the entire world.
And it is obvious that you are comparing China with the entire world, which indirectly proves that China does indeed have enough capabilities to compete with the entire world.
So when compared with the entire world, what has the supposed superpower India actually beaten?
This suddenly reminds me of the 2024 Olympics.
Even after excluding the four gold medals won by Hong Kong and Taiwan, China won 40 gold medals, putting it on par with the United States.
India not only won zero gold medals, but also lost to its arch-rival Pakistan....
China has surpassed India in almost every respect, yet India always seems eager to compare itself with China...
In fact, even Vietnam has developed better than India. Vietnam’s GDP per capita and GDP per capita based on PPP (purchasing power parity) are both higher than India’s.
Vietnam has maintained a trade surplus for ten years, while India has experienced the opposite: the supposed superpower India has had a trade deficit for ten years.
And it is not just Vietnam. Even the Philippines in 2025 had a higher GDP per capita and PPP-adjusted GDP per capita than India.
Rather than aiming to become a superpower,
Prime Minister Modi, the Vishwaguru (world teacher), should first promise the Indian people that surpassing the Philippines would be a more realistic goal for India at this stage.
