Federal cabinet gives nod to imposition of emergency in KP; summary sent to president

I would not feel personally aggrieved by the inference to the contrary. The vast majority of nations who profess democratic institutions and checks and balances and rule of law simply state these things for show. In reality, they are electoral autocracies, at best. Moreover, several of these nations "impose" representative democracy on developing nations as a means of control. We are often led to believe that autocracy is easily controlled by malevolent 3rd parties from afar - that is only true if the dictator plays ball (Saddam, Gaddafi, Noriega, Chavez, Castro, Maduro....etc etc). Meanwhile, democracy can be manipulated at a fraction of the cost.

One only needs to glance over the eastern border, or at USA/UK, to understand all the above. The oligarchs reign supreme in most "democracies". India, rather amateurishly, thinks it can nation build in Pakistan by backing the same Khan they used to call Taliban Khan hardly a year or so ago. Indians posting here do make me laugh - they think we are stupid and they themselves are the Bollywood heroes that the third world needs.

Then there's the one nation that actually tells it how it is - China, giving a big red middle finger to so called representative democracy and proud of it. Ancient Greece would be equally proud. One of the few things Khan was right about (without him really realising why he was right) was that the Chinese example is the one to follow.

Even a fake democracy works better because those same autocracy have to at least keep up appearances and thus provide some performance. Thats why the democracies are doing better. For example, the US is in reality run by the military industrial complex who in turn pay the politicians, but because its not a direct corporate government (yet) there is a lot of check and balance in their system.

I don't know who counts as the 'deep-state' of UK but I'm going to guess its also corporations and certain elite and yes, they have their House of Lords but they also have a House of Commons and councils where the common riff-raff are allowed to at least discuss their issues and enact policy.

India is doing far better than us at this point. I know enough Indian people and I know how their lifestyle has rapidly changed in their 2nd/3rd tier cities that you can't even pronounce. Again, their establishment is the Gujjews and the businesses but still, because the democratic element is there, a 'counter-weight' exists.

China works because they're all Han Chinese and one party. We are Punjabi/Baloch/Sindhi/Shia/Sunni/Molvi/Liberal/Urdu-Speaker/Muhajir/whatever etc. All functional and powerful countries are democracies. No democracy is 100% free and fair but the worst democracy is better than the best dictatorship.

Also, we cannot follow China since part of how their system works is that they're completely devoid of religion and they follow a hybrid communist/capitalist structure where the government still owns a lot of things. That is too radical a change for us. Our structure is based on UK government.

Grade-20 officer Muhammad Yahya Akhunzada as administrator for 12 designated districts

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has appointed Grade-20 officer Muhammad Yahya Akhunzada as administrator for 12 designated districts following the imposition of Governor's rule and an emergency in the province.

According to an official notification, Akhunzada will oversee administrative affairs in the 12 districts in accordance with directives issued by the federal government. His services were transferred from the federal government to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for the assignment.

Akhunzada will head a separate secretariat established to supervise the administration of the designated districts. He will implement instructions issued by the federal government and K-P Governor Faisal Karim Kundi regarding administrative matters in these areas.

The 12 districts include eight merged tribal districts, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Kurram, Orakzai, North Waziristan, Upper South Waziristan and Lower South Waziristan, along with four settled districts: Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Bannu and Lakki Marwat.

One would expect more than just words from government officials. What matters most is taking practical steps and being proactive. So far, PTI seems to be good at making promises and using sweet words, but where are the actual results?
Can someone explain what proactive measures PTI has taken and actually implemented? What is their action plan?
I support peace talks as long as they lead to real and lasting peace. But has PTI considered that the TTP's demand is for complete autonomy from Pakistan? How does PTI plan to address this demand while protecting Pakistan's sovereignty?

PTI is just a provincial government. All they could do was strengthen the KP Police and they did that.

Baaqi fauj sambhaalti hay. Fauj controls the border, fauj controls the rangers, the interior ministry has always belonged to a fauji or someone they hand-picked. Same with defence ministry.

I gain no benefit from assigning blame from one Pakistani to another but lets get our facts straight on who was doing what.

If PTI was responsible for terrorism then why were they allowed to rule from 2013 to 2026, and why terrorism existed from 2001 to 2013, who was responsible, Balochistan is worse than KPK but under military rule, why so many no go areas in Balochistan despite large military presence. So what is actually going on.

Unlike you all the civilians are not filthy.... that's a special dump of filth you belong to.

Ohh right, the ones who support Army rule are good and clean. I totally forgot. My bad boss.

Can anyone of them or their offspring become PM or President or a lawmaker in Pakistan?

india is not a democracy either. Please.

The more reason why current democracy is not suitable for Pakistan. Groom, educate, train and select future lawmakers.

Even IK would have preferred a presidential system.

- They could if the military allowed them.

- India is 100% a democracy, just not a good example of one hence they're a shithole but they are indeed a democracy. Their military is very similar to ours and never did martial law. The point is, their people are more free than us and its given net positive for their economy and life, not negative.

- To do that in the first place you will have to let the people go and have their democracy. They will have to go through the rebuilding phase as the grassroot politics return and it will take you 10-15 years to see the first leaders starting to pop up.

For example, IK's first ever federal government was like 80% hand-picked lotay from PPP and PMLN. People rightly criticise this but they forget that PTI student leaders were still in their 20s at this point. Even Sohail Afridi was a kid. It takes time to build up.

It's like you are sick and you need to take medicine but you're holding off because it will initially cause your fever to go even higher. Because we're scared of that, we say koi nahi, martial law lag jaye baar baar, khair hay.

If IK would have preferred presidential system that is fine by me too, but wo bhi civilian system hi hui na. Fauj would have still interfered and put their Yes-Man on it.

Narrative wise PTI took head on confrontation with Establishment.
Used every opportunity to malign their relationship with the state.

Refused help where offered by federation to keep the orphan look.

Reh gae baat KP police ki,
Equipment handed over to KP police ends up in hands of terrorists before it even reaches specific units.
No sympathy for the Personnel and no narrative in supporting them.

Vehicle orders placed are used as political point scoring. ( They could have bought equipment from private contractors as well ).

I can't blame PTI for everything wrong in KPK. But they have been no saints.

If PTI government actually handed over police weapons to terrorists, what benefit did the PTI government get. The police, peace committes, civilians were targetted by the same terrorists, so PTI were shooting their own foot.

Pakistan was never a democracy. Even if a political party wins all seats and forms a government after an election, Pakistan will still not be a democracy. Pakistanis are not mature enough for democracy, it is not suited for our country. It provides opportunities to the BA fail feudal lords, wealthy elite of Pakistan only. I am advocate of groom train and select the governors rather than elect. Military establishment has always been supported by these politicians and judges.
Pakistan was created by its people, under civilian leadership. The founders, the people and the civilian leadership have chosen time and again for the country to be a federation under a democratic form of government. The colonial army, bureucracy and judiciary played NO role in the creation of Pakistan. There is nothing more to debate on this topic.

You have a contemptous view of the people of Pakistan , which I don't share and you ignore the deliberate derailment of Constitutionalism and democracy by the army. How are people supposed to build a good system when the army is constantly sabotaging it ?

There are no perfect civilians who can build you a perfect democracy on day 1. That is an absurd expectation meant to facilitate autocrats. The Bengalis, who kicked out the autocrats in 1971, are doing much better than Pakistan today in health, education, literacy, economy, polity.

Another discredited idea you seem to be recycling is "technocrat rule". We have seen many technocratic setups flop in the country, just like the dictators, because they lack support from the people and waste their entire tenure seeking legitimacy, something an elected politician already possesses.

Federation is not doing any of this to 'help' KPK or save it from terrorism. That's like saying USA invades countries to spread freedom and democracy. It's just the cover story.

Come out of this 'malign State' mindset. State-shate kuch nahi hota. Army is not the state they are our naukars, nobody forced them to enlist they are doing a job. If they are feeling stress from their job then take early retirement and someone else can come and serve. Hammay bando ki kammi nahi hay.

We are the state. 22 crore ki awaam aap ka state hay. If I was in PTI place I wouldn't want to work with the establishment either. Why should I work with the people who ruined Pakistan.

And yes, vehicle orders were used as political point scoring just now by the federal government. They withheld the vehicles from KP until right after they enacted governer Raj.

They were even withholding provincial funds from PTI. Sad state of affairs.

Yes, why are people of Bangladesh and India, which came from the same British Raj, mature enough for democracy and those from Pakistan are not. In 1947, West Pakistan had a headstart and was endowed with more resources, yet it was squandered. Neither of these countries is anywhere close perfect, but their people are , in general, economically better off and enjoy more political and legal rights than those in Pakistan. Even Afghan men, arguably, lives under a more just system.

It's much more easier to manipulate people in chaos. I can't say that PTI handed over weapons willingly but the timing is usually canny.. and people who don't talk shit about the Federation die off there at much convenient times.

PTI is not shooting it's foot in the sense that it thrives in that environment. In lying, anarchy and chaos.

Police cannot fight terrorists, they do not have the training or weaponary. For terrorism we have special forces, FC, Army. My point was if the police at night runs away and police stations and the local areas are overan by terrorists, where are 10,000s of armed forces, special forces, agencis and FC.
Army Fc can do operation but they ho back they cannot maintain law and order for this police department is here. If policemen leave their offices at night then how law and order can be maintained ? how army can achieve some success ? Its police responsibility to maintain law and order thats why CTD is created in punjab sindh and balochistan. If police in kpk is really in bad shape then its not good for Pakistan.
Now we cant debate much army has control on province ..Now they have army fc police everything its their time yo drliver or face criticism.

People blow themselves, bridges, schools and people up in KPK before emergency and will probably still do it after the emergency, maybe less more so... KPK problem is not PTI or Army or any political party but its people.

I'm actually starting to get a little worried at this point for you . No lie, on God. I implore moderators to intervene and find out this guy's IP, trace his location and call local law enforcement to do a welfare check on this guy.

I am in a patient mood for some reason so rather than respond to all which you said, allow me to share the links ONE MORE time just for you, with headers and links. I'm not doing this because I think you didn't see it the first time, I am just checking to see how far you want to take this.

Attending Funerals

Imran Khan has a pretty consistent policy of not visiting janaazay. Why he does this, idk. Its some stupid superstition he believed in, he did it multiple times but he would always visit the families of the victims afterwards.

However, all in all, not attending funeral does not equate to supporting TTP. You can say its in bad taste or disrespectful definitely but who knows maybe they were not able to come? They were PM and CM respectively after all. Quite busy people.

I still fail to see how exactly it is that you are so certain that PTI/IK/Sohail.A are all in cahoots with TTP but not even Asim Munir knew this? because if what you were saying was true phir governer raj na hota, kuch aur hota.

Even right now as we speak they aren't beating up Sohail Afridi or anything, rather MI is holding him somewhere offering minus-1 deal. If he was a TTP supporter or drug lord like you say then they'd have bagged him by now.

You also said:

" All the circumstantial evidence, on the other hand, points to the collusion of PTI with the terrorist TTP. Your bigotry is not going to change that. "

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time you've stated this but you haven't provided a single link yourself. Like not even one. Whereas I have given you multiple sources showing that all the way from 2013 when PTI first came into a provincial govt up till now, they have been regularly condemning ALL terrorism that happens in Pak.

I am genuinely concerned for you at this point.

I have obliged you this much, now do just one little thing for us, I'll ask one more time. Please give us a single proof that PTI or even Imran Khan or Sohail Afridi in particular specifically supported the TTP or any terorrist organisation for that matter.

Please explain to us your source for this fact, please show us WHAT the support exactly was. Were there funds involved? Were they transferring equipment? What was going on exactly? Eik source dedo and I'll beg the moderators every single day to change my name to "ProThoughtIsMyPapa" on this forum until they get tired of it and ban me.
You are still trying to deceive with your lies. The links you have provided nowhere show that Sohail Afridi equivocally condemned TTP or attended a janaza prayers of any son of the soil who embraced shahadat.

Show some self-respect and dignity. Simply admit that Imran Khan and Sohail Afridi never equivocally condemned TTP for its terrorism. Neither they have ever attended the janaza prayers of any son of the soil who embraced shahadat.

The reality is the following:
1. Imran Kahn never condemned TTP at all.
2. Sohail Afridi too never equivocally condemned TTP at all. He gave a general statement of 'opposing' all terrorism including TTP and that too in Karachi. This is not equivocal condemnation of TTP and its terrorism.
3. Imran Khan and Sohail Afridi (and any PTI provincial minister, to my knowledge) NEVER attended funeral prayers of the sons of the soil (from both police and other LEAs) who lost their life while fighting TTP terrorists.

Stop repeating the same crap again and again. We already know all that you are presenting. It does not qualify to prove that PTI provincial government didn't have nexus with terrorist TTP. Both were protecting and supporting each other while killing the people of KPK and members of LEAs.

If PTI government actually handed over police weapons to terrorists, what benefit did the PTI government get. The police, peace committes, civilians were targetted by the same terrorists, so PTI were shooting their own foot.
PTI. ..
It was a way of sending the message to TTP ! Hey , we are your friends , please don't kill us like you were killing ANP
