Indian General Admits: We Cannot Defend India Against Pakistan & China

hat means our oldest units will be F-16s delivered in the 80s and only representing around 20% of the fleet. Everything else being less then 20 years old.

F-16s are 'modular': Very upgradable. The recent upgrades of Pakistan's 70+ F-16s have added a formidable, near-Rafale capabilities to PAF. The upgrade request was denied in 2021/22 by Biden but granted by Trump. Both India and Pakistan have kept a low profile about the upgrades.

Where the Indian posters at today?
I don't know about others, but I was laughing my a$$ off.

The thread's title is misleading, if not outright wrong. The general never said India could not defend against China and Pakistan. The general is the DG of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police force, a paramilitary force under the control of the Home Ministry, not Defense, and was talking about dealing with Chinese incursions into Arunachal Pradesh, saying China has an edge because of modernization. What this has to do with Pakistan is anybody's guess.

If India cannot defend against China and Pakistan, it would've been attacked: Pakistan towards Kashmir and China against Arunachal Pradesh. Nothing like this has happened or is likely to happen. Not without serious consequences.

I'm not even going to discuss the source, which is from Pakistan. We know how these shows go: more hyper-nationalism than real analysis.

All I can say is: enjoy the circle jerk.

100% For some reason (lack of cash, imminent J-35 induction, exports to Azeris etc) pace of JF-17C and J-10C induction was slowed to almost zero or very little since 2024, or we are simply not getting info about it.
By now I was hoping of the single F-7PG unit replaced and at least 1 Mirage unit replaced. By 2028 we should be looking at an all F-16/J-17/J-10 fleet with maybe the J-35.

That means our oldest units will be F-16s delivered in the 80s and only representing around 20% of the fleet. Everything else being less then 20 years old.

You will have an enemy flying mostly Jaguars (60 years old), MIG-29/Mirage 2000 (40 years old), SU-30s (30 years old). Only 5% of their fleet will be less then 20 years old (the 28 off Rafails).

That is an absolutely shocking state of affairs if it comes to pass, but it is very very possible
Its seems that the current Military regime aka establishment is putting a lot of efforts on ground conventional forces with force multipliers like ULR-MLRS Fateh series.

Do we know how many more battalions of Fateh have been raised ? is it a Div size force yet?

Incorrect assessment.

India's Bollywood mentality regarding nationhood is the perennial national addiction that you cannot escape from, not Congress, Nehruvism, "sickulars", or whatever else you people like to shift blame onto.

Why would China and Pakistan attack PURELY because of their superior military capability, be it real or perceived? Hindustan may wish we were that stupid. Both countries have, hitherto, waited for Delhi to put its foot in it and only then, proceeded to simply extract their respective pounds of flesh as a result of Delhi's mistakes.

This formula works well.

We await your next mistake. See if you can control yourselves enough to avoid making one.

An Indian analyst himself once said thus 'India's domestic politics is externalized as India's foreign policy'. There is no question in my mind that Nehru's 'Forward Policy' and Modi's 'Muscular Policy' against China in the 50s and the 2010s, respectively, have led to the historic rifts between India and China. I see the rift not ending anytime soon. And India is cooked because it's over dependence on the Western support since the early 2000s is becoming less and less productive.

PS. Any Pakistani here old enough to remember Bertrand Russel's essay, maybe titled like 'Reflections on the Reawakening East', which was a textbook inclusion in Pakistan's English language courses in the 80s. He posited that a China-India combine would be a major global power, and the West's nightmare. But India's leaders were too stupid--and arrogant.

Does anyone honestly think these Indians can coordinate militarily over such large distances?

Take out their leadership their command and control will instantly break down and these remote outposts will start waving the white flags and gayshanker will be begging the west to save them.

Pakistan has already covered off any aircraft carriers within 200km off the coast and defences against an air armada as demonstrated in May 2025. This region is locked down by Pak-China.
