US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Yeah man, was an eyeopener for us all here.

I think I have covered off the very basics, family of 3 (one adult daughter) so at Costco last week got 36 large bottles of water, 3 x crates of tinned food, 1 large bag of rice, 2 x bags of pasta, 6 x pasta sauces. Online ordered 3 x power pack, 3 x torches 1 x med kit. 1 fm radio. Cost me a small fortune but way I see it now the Government is not handing out this advice lightly,

Additionally we have massive outside grill area and indoor wood burner so next visit to B&Q just gonna stock up on logs to keep dry and in shed. That way we have heat source too that we can also cook on if required. For some bizarre reason we have stash of large candles in the loft already from some event so that will help

My thinking is all the above is more then enough for three days, but if need be we can last a week on it if we stretch things out. Main problem is storage as we needed to find space for cellars.

and make sure u don't tell anyone you have all this!
Or people will raid your home first,

I laughed but I actually have considered that too if I am being honest, have an old cricket bat for that situation

Looks like you have most of the bases covered. I am planning on getting some long dated MRE packs, since I don't have the same garden grilling facilities that you do! I will also get a 1kw battery pack - at least that way I can surf the web and join in the doom and gloom if/when something happens.

Poland this year had wide ranging power cuts due to issues in keeping power plants operational, so it is not just the "big bad Ruskies bears" hacking the power grids or lobbing a missile at them that we apparently have to worry about but nature as well and I can see that happening here to, as we have absolutely no redundancy in our power grid infrastructure.

Maybe get a outdoor gas camping stove? MREs are the ideal solution, you get varied meals and can be eaten hot or cold. So much energy packed into them too that you could be one of the few people who put on weight during a disaster!

Honestly, feels so weird we are even having these conversations here in the UK
