Pakistan Army Orders 200 More SH-15 Self-Propelled Howitzer Units !

No .I said pa will help in another regional war and as payout will get free weapons

I hope you can read English

E.g we provided free transport to American equipment used the money not to fix the destroyed roads but military aid

That fixing came from tax payer money
Oho Bengali Baba, please accept my apologies. English is not my first language :(

I thought Pakistan is already at war ? isnt it ? Ohh that has to be America's war, not own. SH-15 is Chinese, so is Pakistan fighting China's war since fixing comes from tax payers money.

Some things that have been stated before already but let me briefly explain those.
1. An initial variant of the gun was developed & tested by HIT several years ago.
2. PA was supplied with a limited batch of several examples for trials & testing. But order was not placed as (see point 3).
3. Currently the gun is being further developed into a improved variant with top of the line specs as a foreign customer is funding the development. So the PA has opted to wait it out and eventually procure the improved variant once it's ready.
Weight of gun and the range of its ammunition interests me.

oh Hindustani baba, your apology accepted

Neighbors of Pakistan lag behind in SP guns especially the eastern one. Iran has tried copies of M109.
Won't be for long once they start production of their indigenous system

Neighbor have different doctrine and hence outguns us in towed arterillery

Regardless this is an era of economy, keeping waterlines open ,air force and air defense...where we are totally screwed in any long war

Famous cliche Statements like "over my dead body" didn't work in 1971 won't work now

Only fools ignore history

Doom and gloom again ?
Stop living in 1971. You just have to bring your Bengali origin in every post. Pakistan is doomed, future is doomed, totally screwed - only God knows about the effects of 1971 war left on your mind. Learn to forgive yourself. 1971 is long gone.

Indian Army armored doctrine required SP guns, no matter how different the doctrine is, so your statement is BS.

PA would be outgunned if its artillery ratio w.r.t. infantry and armor support wasn't enough but there are enough brigades to support operations for infantry as well as armored formations.

Lastly, chaat-tay raho history ko coz Pakistan doesn't need to defend its territory 1000s of miles away ever again in future.

Pakistan is the fastest growing economy of Asia
I guess this will work 😂

A lighter version is required for mountain ops.
M777 is only somewhat capable with the Indians because they have the necessary means to transport it (Chinooks) other wise the M777 still has the same vehicle towing footprint as M198.
PA meanwhile has no airlift capacity capable of handling such a light howitzer like M777/AH4 etc.

The way I see it PA has two options it could follow, first being to procure a light SPH on 4x4 chassis with a 155/39 or 122mm Arty gun and the second option being to procure a light 105mm howitzer capable of being airlifted by Mi-17s.

The gun is in 155mm/52cal and likely has a weight of 16~18 tons based on similar class examples like the FH2000, G5 or GH52 towed guns.
Are we sticking to JBMOU standard chamber or going for bigger for super long range, like some South African examples?

The 130mm and other guns/howitzers were taken apart, lifted by Mi-17s and taken atop.

What is the reason of deploying Oto melara Mod 56 deployed in mountains ? Its lesser in weight than M777.

Oto Melara Mod 56's ability to be "knocked-down" allows the sections to be transported a number of ways, although the original design was for mule-pack using special pack saddles. More often it is towed by a light vehicle such as a jeep or Land Rover. With the shield removed it can be carried inside an M113 armored personnel carrier. Its particular attraction to Western armies in the 1960s was that its light weight meant it could be lifted in one piece by helicopter, which made the gun popular with light artillery units in many countries as well as the more specialized mountain and airborne troops. As an added refinement to the gun's mass, the Mod 56 is built to be an artillery piece with a reputation of ease with which it can be assembled and then disassembled into twelve components within minutes.

Not sure if light SP is a good idea in mountains.
