Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

Do you?

A thermobaric missile is primarily used to kill infantry by superheating the air and sucking out the oxygen, hence why it’s used in TOS-1 and 2 by Russian MLRS systems.

You wouldn’t use a thermobaric missile against those entrances. They are covered by air locked blast doors every couple hundred meters to prevent energy from traveling thru the corridor. If you bothered to educate yourself, Iran has published walk thrus on these entrances before.

The entrances are facing southeast towards Tabriz. Took me 1 min to find them on Google maps without having the coordinates.

You don’t need a drone to tell you how the Earth works (or compass for that matter).

Thank you for that disclaimer, prior to this I thought you were Pakistan’s 007.

You give yourself too much credit, I didn’t even think you passed high school with some of the things you say.

You know what else can tell you the rate of expansion? A satellite….that flies overhead multiple times a day.

First Nice contradiction.

The top US spy satellite’s cost up to $10B and you think that a $1M FLIR from Canada (used on Turkish drone) can outperform it?

Commercial satellites have reached 10 cm resolution, that image I showed you is ~10 cm that Trump leaked. And highly classified images are likely much much higher resolution than that.

So yes, a spy satellite can absolutely have a higher quality of image than drone.

Anyone can simply order this level detail today via commercial satellite providers:

Now imagine what NATO/US have via Space based assets.
Whatever.....

You got taken advantage of, simple.

Take it up with the Turks.

Some aviation experts on Pakistani news channels, saying most likely its not just an accident

Its funny when the wing commander was comparing this with the heli crash of Lt Gen Sarfraz and how that was blown as well with parts scattered, they immediately cut him off.

Im not going to discuss hypotheticals with you before an investigation. Your initial premise was that Iran can afford this so should automatically be able to buy these choppers and I poured cold water on that by showing how short sighted and one dimensional what you said was. I'm happy to end the discussion there.
As you wish, let’s wait for the report.

What was the other heat map then? Remains of projectile which might have hit the Heli !?
it is not clear. Maybe that image is fire of a villager for his farm or...

At the same time as the picture was posted, I was surprised how the helicopter was still burning and hot after hours of rain

One thing I have not seen mentioned is the psychology of the pilots. There have been at least two instances, EgyptAir 990 and MH370 where the pilots induced crashes for unknown reasons. Though rickety craft, poor weather and bad terrain seem obvious causes of the crash, someone should ask why a Head of State was placed in a junk to fly on difficult terrain in terrible weather.
I have already mentioned in one of my comment in this thread that investigators should look suicidal mission in addition to every other possibility.

When you start investigating you have to be free from prejudice else investigation is bound to be tainted.

RIP

Was it an accident? Was it an assassination? Too early to tell.

But this sure happened (see tweet below):

the helicopter simply would have been colder if intact but it was disintegrated so i say same temperature as area around it

Let me check......

Yep... our people are not dropping out of the sky in ancient choppers and our nuclear scientists aren't getting shot up at traffic signals.

What?! PAK airlines is one of the unsafest airlines in the world and thats with modern planes. There's also rampant corruption, poor infrastructure, nothing produced indegenously of note, unsafe for locals and foreigners and India still occupies your lands. You're throwing stones from glass houses.

These are 30 year old machines. I would say its maintenance nightmare. Iran should use Russian made helicopter. I don t understand why use Bell instead of Mi.
Iran has one of the largest fleet of helicopters in the world, mostly Western types inherited from the Shah's regime. This fleet (500+) is maintained, overhauled and upgraded by the Iran Helicopter Support and Renewal Industries (PANHA). The Bell 212 is the back bone of the Iranian Navy Aviation along with SH-3 Sea King and SH-53 Sea Stallions and have had an excellent safety record despite being cut of from the original manufacturer for over 45 years!

yea bell 212 is one of most reliable helicopters ever made

but in such terrain its always better ot use Mi 171

Mi-171 is an "extreme weather capable helicopter" and built with aerodynamic to withstand even storms.
Mi-171.jpg

Bell 212 is only "all weather capable helicopter"

if your flying into area that is known for very bad weather you put him in to a Mi-171 not a Bell 212...
Talibans checked that even Mi17 were better for operations "high and hot" than the Uh60 super super that Afghan army left before being dissolved. That history we're published in The War Zone. It wasn't a russian website

If they have the money, then they can buy it surely?! So Iran being able to afford it is a very simplistic understanding, which was shot from the hip and in the dark. Iran can afford it but as other members have have highlighted, that there has to be a willingness to sell just as much as there should be a willingness to buy. Something you don't understand.

Also, why make comments on safety when no investigation has occured?!
Iran was insterested in co-producing Ka225 which is pretty decent helicopter for light weight and VIP personnel. It was published one year and a half before in Presstv or Tasnim. Don't remember that good.
