I mean you have to look at what are the USAF assets in Japan and Korea to begin with, and their logistical + support capacities per squadron etc. Over time US is looking to add philippines to this mix. It presents a serious conventional deterrence if you look at the reach and ranges to the geography thats baked in for China in eastern sea board.
True, the US does have those two, possibly three even 4 options if you include Guam. Question becomes how receptive would either Japan or S. Korea be with allowing the US to launch any operations from their territory against China? The mere thought of North Korea seizing the opportunity with China's help I would think would make S. Korea run for the hills.
And Japan would have to contend with China also but quite possibly Russia. Not sure if Putin would stretch himself on two fronts, but he does owe Xi Jinping a big favor. It's undoubtedly a fascinating scenario. And we thought WWIII's birthplace would be Europe & Russia or the Middle East! This would be on a whole other level when you factor the level of technology that would be involved.
“China has a much more difficult military problem from the standpoint of, they have to accomplish one of the most difficult military events that you would have to do," said Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach. “If I was them, I'd be worried. If I was a [Chinese] military commander, I'd be worried about 2027.”

While the J-20 is certainly more capable than the Su-57, the US Air Force isn’t really all that concerned about the J-20.
LOL who is this General Kenneth Wilsbach lol. He sounds like a modern-day Norman Schwartzkopf except not even half as disciplined! Dude is like completely dissing the J-20 dang. Not a good thing, but I guess it's all part of the mental gymnastics two super-powers need to play. And anyone who would think that between the F-22 and F-35 -- the former's lower numbers notwithstanding -- that the USAF is to be taken lightly, they must be in the twilight zone high on crack.
At the same time, China is not to be taken lightly like this Wilsbach fella is doing.
The J-20 is not the only dragon China has.
Now add in the US Navy with its fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornets, EA-18G Growlers and the navy's electronic warfare Godzilla Mammoth Behemoth capabilities which people don't realize actually are involved with the USAF's F-15 & F-16s in a major overlap of a well-oiled network-centric machine.
But what I wanna know is why the hell are you dissing the mighty Fellon Su-57? BTW I hate that friggin name shame on NATO bunch of donkeys what a blatant insult! Anyway, don't tell me you're falling for the bogus anti-Russian progadanabanda out there?
Hey what's up with the narrator? Is that Chinese IA? LOL! That dude sounds like a full US breed military correspondent from the 1970's cold war era loool. Classic Chinese caracara.
BTW, what is exactly this major J-20 upgrade starting soon?
