Türkiye's NATO membership | News & Developments

SIPER wasn't almost ready in 2019. It hasn't been commissioned yet. Also, SIPER & SA-21 growler are not comparable. Completely different system based on different technologies.
Ah then it must have been part of some kind of deal with the Russians.

Yeah,I know. But I think they bought it because of some deal with Russia. It was after Erdogan went to Moscow to "apologize" to Putin for downing the Russian Su-24 and the whole Turkish-Russian relations revival. Besides,it makes no sense. They were almost ready with their indigenous AA systems. Unless they needed the S-400 to copy parts of it and make SIPER. No idea.

Full of nonsense

Turkiye needed high altitude Air Defense Systems

Turkiye first asked PATRIOT from USA
but USA did not sell PATRIOT to Turkiye

then Turkiye tried to buy FD-2000 from China
but in 2015 USA forced Turkiye to cancel deal with China

and after USA backed failed military coup attempt in 2016
Turkiye turned Russia to buy S400

even in 2018 Turkiye signed a deal with EUROSAM to develop Air Defense SAystem but France blocked this agreement in 2020 after Turkish military operation against PKK-YPG terror organization in Afrin-Syria

So Turkiye has started developing SIPER Air Defense System in 2018
and SIPER Block1 enter service in 2024 with 700+ km ALP-301G AESA Radar

SIPER use hit to kill technology ... S400 lack this technology

Is there any evidence to suggest that the F-35 cannot be locked on by the S-400 radar? In that case, only another F-35 or perhaps some advanced 4th generation fighter jets like Rafales and Eurofighter Typhoons equipped with long-range Meteor missiles and supported by strong AWACS could detect and down an F-35. However, 100 F-35 jets would still overwhelm any air force.

No idea. But the greek government is obsessed with getting F-35s.

And the F-35 is much cheaper than the Rafales and Eurofighter Typhoons. I don’t know about the operating costs, but Israeli F-35s cost only one-fourth of the India-specific Rafales.

It's more expensive and even more expensive to maintain. Also, the Americans demand the airbases where they will be stationed and maintained,to have some specific standards.

The USA approved Turkiye's F-16V purchase

U.S. Embassy Türkiye

“Today marks an important step forward in Türkiye’s purchase of the latest-generation F-16 Block 70 fighter jets and upgrades to its existing fleet of F-16s. This is good for U.S. national security, Turkish national security, and NATO interoperability"

Political-Military Affairs, US Dept of State

The United States is proud to announce today a significant step forward in Turkey's acquisition of the new F-16 Block 70 fighter jets, the most advanced ever produced, available only to our closest allies and partners. This is just one of the latest examples of the United States' unwavering commitment to its security partnership with Türkiye.

The fact that the USA can sell F-16V jets to Turkey, despite Turkey having already acquired the S-400 from Russia, makes me wonder why they didn't sell the Patriot air defense system to Turkey when Turkey didn't yet have the S-400.

Americans are weird. They put a gazillion rules in their weapon sales. Remember what they did to Pakistan during the wars with India? They sanctioned them and as a result,Pakistanis were left without ammunition and spare parts for their US-made equipment.

5 kilos 400 grams of enriched uranium, which can be used in an atomic bomb, was delivered to the USA by Turkiye in 2012

Official source

The Çekmece Nuclear Research and Training Center is the primary nuclear research and training center of Turkiye was established in 1958

Research nuclear reactor TR-2

And our brother country Kazakhstan is the biggest Uranium producer country in the World
and Turkiye has over 9.000 tons of uranium reserves

a very assertive statement from Turkish professor
Turkiye has power to develop nucleear weapons
if Turkish Government order us to develop nuclear Bomb...we can do it within 6 months

The problem is not technology but political decision
Are you saying that from 1962 to 2012, your TR-1 and TR-2 produced 5.4 Kg of enriched uranium which you gave to the US as per the agreement you have with them.

And you will need another 50 years to produce another 5.4 Kg of enriched uranium.

Turkey says the US was not initiating the process of delivering the Patriot air defense system to Turkey despite multiple requests. I don't know whether it was due to bureaucratic inefficiency of the US or fear of angering neighboring countries of Turkey, but Turkey says they decided to buy the S-400 from Russia because the US was not selling the Patriot.

Turkey wants Patriot System with TOT which US don't want to provide. Same with Eurosam. Also Price negotiation failed too.

USA did not sale even UCAV to Turkiye
and USA did not sale PATRIOT to Turkiye even without TOT

in 2018 EUROSAM and Turkiye signed an agreement jointly develop a new AD System
but MACRON blocked this agreement in 2020 after Turkish Military operation against PKK-YPG in Afrin/Syria

We dont need PATRIOT and EUROSAM anymore
Turkiye has developed its own HISAR-O and SIPER AD Systems
