Veddriq and Rajiah Qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia--
Indonesia has added more representatives at the 2024 Paris Olympics following the success of Veddriq Leonardo and Rajiah Sallsabillah in holding tickets to Paris 2024.
This certainty was ensured by the performance of Veddriq and Rajiah in the qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics which took place in Budapest, Hungary. With this success, there is automatically additional hope for the rock climbing sport to donate medals to the Indonesian contingent.
"Two Indonesian rock climbing athletes in the speed number, Veddriq Leonardo and Rajiah Sallsabillah managed to secure their place at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday (22/6) Budapest time," FPTI wrote on their Instagram account.
Rajiah is an athlete who won a bronze medal at the 2022 Asian Games. Last year, Rajiah won one of the IFSC Climbing World Cup series in Chamonix, France.
Meanwhile, Veddriq is a bronze medalist at the 2022 Asian Games. In the IFSC Climbing World Cup series, Veddriq has always been the leader of the standings in the last three seasons.
Veddriq also won a gold medal at the 2022 World Games. At that time, Veddriq defeated Kiromal Katibin in the final round.
Previously, the rock climbing sport had already passed two representatives to the 2024 Paris Olympics. The two representatives are Rahmad Adi Mulyono and Desak Made Rita.
The speed number in rock climbing will debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Along with the impressive achievements of Indonesian athletes in the speed number, the sport of rock climbing then became a new hope for the Indonesian contingent to win a gold medal in Paris 2024.

Perbasi prepares squad for FIBA U-19 Women's World Cup

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PP Perbasi has begun to prepare the squad to compete in the FIBA U-19 Women's World Cup which will be held in 2027 by recruiting young talents or scouting starting from 2024.
"Well, to pursue achievements, we did propose for the U-19 world championship and it happened to fall in 2027. We still have time to do scouting, we have started from several regions," said Secretary General of PP Perbasi Nirmala Dewi in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Nirmala said that Perbasi has found several young talents who have the potential to be developed and prepared to participate in the 2027 FIBA U-19 Women's World Cup which is currently being worked on so that it can be held in Indonesia.
One of the promising potentials to be developed into a player of the Indonesian U-19 Women's basketball team is a 13-year-old who is more than 180 centimeters tall.
However, Nirmala has not been able to publicize the prospective Indonesian national team player and is still in the maturation plan to be trained at one of the basketball clubs.
"She is 13 years old and already has a height of more than 180 cm, it will still be tall again because she is still 13 years old," said Nirmala.
The Secretary General of Perbasi admitted that one of the shortcomings of Indonesian basketball national team players is in posture when compared to players from other countries.
In addition to looking for prospective Indonesian women's basketball talents in a number of regions, Perbasi is also looking for potential players in the diaspora program. According to her, the talent search through the diaspora program is quite effective to increase the strength of the squad with players who already have above-average basketball skills.
Nirmala said that Perbasi would prepare a long-term training program or Training Camp (TC) for the women's national basketball team, considering that there is no women's special basketball competition for now.
"If the women's team does not have a league. What we are doing is a long-term TC. Because as we also know, we did that for the women's national team when they got the gold medal at the Cambodian SEA Games, it was also because they did a long-term TC," said Nirmala.
