The Gandharan 'Athena'

Standing figure of Goddess Athena (Minerva) in gray schist stone. A conical cap is worn by the figure. The left hand is raised upward. It wears typical Greek garment - the chiton showing Greek influence in Gandhara Art. It is one of the rarest examples of sculpturing in round which belongs to Gandhara School.

As Alexander, sick, returned via the coastline, he left behind many satraps, who established kingdoms of their own that lasted a good while.

Head of a Noble Lady, Rokhri Pakistan, c. 4th-6th century CE.

This artifact, found in Rokhri District Mianwali, Punjab, depicts a youthful noble lady with a lavish golden headpiece and an intricate hairstyle.

Will it be controversial if I say, its Zoroastrianism that split away from Hinduism? Maybe power struggle or something Doc?

;)

Not remotely controversial.

There is only a single lobby in the world that pushes this narrative.

And it is resident in India (with European lackeys).

The Iranian side is under the Mullas. Who obviously do not care, and of course fear any form of reignited love for Zoroastrianism among the people.

Most everyone else in the world, serious historians, scholars, believe it is the opposite.

And while Parsis are living custodians of the ancient fire and wisdom, passed down from father to son, an unbroken link, we are too small a lobby and too vested and interested to really matter. Though there is a big institute of Zoroastrian Studies in the UK, that I work with in a certain capacity over the years. But few Parsis. Many Iranians. And majority, including the department heads, gora scholars.

The Germans too are big on Zoroastrian research. From before, through, and after the Hitler era.

Look at the flow of people.

And look at the Indian people today.

Do you seriously believe we are all the same race and ethnicity?

Cheers, Doc

Minerva, Persephone, Artemis, Athena and Cybele are just some of the Greek Pantheon who's statues have been found in Asia Minor, central Asia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and northern western India, these date back to the 325-326 BC.

Isn't AIT based on some phonetic similarities between languages? I never felt like reading it, as never liked history. Jo manna hai mano khush raho sab log

Not too well read on India history besides school stuff that every kid studied in non Sanghi India in the 80s.

@Joe Shearer could you give us a short n sweet discourse by dipping into the dark murky pool of the plebs and leaving your ivory rower for a bit?

Both sides please.

Definitely middle eastern.

Ancient Avestan.

Sister tongue of Sanskrit.

Words like "Dastur" and "Gatha" do suggest a connection and transition between Sanskrit and Persian or (Arabic?).

Dastur = Tradition (Persian I guess)
Gatha = Epic / Story /Verses / Song / Hymn (Sanskrit) ( Remember? Gave tav jay Gatha)?

Dastur, Mobed, Navar are different grades, seniorities of priesthood.

Gathas are ancient hymns.
