I gotta question...

Q. So what exactly does this Iron Dome actually do?

Which western msm live update did you get this from? Come on...
I am not prejudiced when it comes to checking sources. Any source that provides reliable information time and again will do.

There is more information about developments in Gaza including proof of destruction in Gaza in Western sources than in other sources. Don't be prejudiced, therefore.
Keep open mind as knowledge can be gained from anywhere.

Israel activated a new missile warning system, based on advanced technology, during the Iranian attack.

According to the Pentagon, the range of today's attack: twice that of the April attack.

The Telegraph quoted an Israeli official: The Iranian attack indicates that war has been declared on Israel.

The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, General Hertzi Halevi, after assessing the situation, stated:

"We have demonstrated our ability to prevent the enemy from achieving successes, thanks to the combination of exemplary civil behavior and a very robust air defense system. We will choose the moment to exact the price and demonstrate our precise and surprising strike capabilities, in accordance with the directives of the political level."

Interim results of Iran's strike on Israel

Two months after the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and four days after the death of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, the Iranians decided to carry out the promised massive strike on Israel.

▪️According to the latest estimates, about 200 ballistic missiles were fired at the country's territory, but a significant number were intercepted by Israel's air defense systems. In repelling the attack, U.S. air defense systems were also involved.

▪️Videos circulating on the internet confirmed hits in certain areas, but the list of targeted military facilities is currently unknown. According to the footage, the main impact sites were most likely deserts. Although media have already started showing footage of the strike's aftermath, Israeli censorship is working well enough to allow only fallen debris or damage to civilian objects to leak online.

▪️Nevertheless, Arab and Iranian media are disseminating statements about the effectiveness of the raid. Fars agency commentators claim that at least 80% of the missiles hit their targets, and Shafaqna reported that at least 20 F-35 aircraft of Israel were destroyed. Another alleged target was a "tank concentration" at the Netzarim intersection in the center of the Gaza Strip.

▪️At least several missiles fell on the West Bank territory - one of them killed one and injured seven local Palestinians. Two more Israelis were injured by shrapnel in Tel Aviv. There are also reports of casualties who were injured on their way to bomb shelters.

▪️The Iranian attack could have achieved significantly greater effectiveness if there had been simultaneous launches from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip as well, but this did not happen.

▪️The internet is full of all sorts of fakes, including reverse footage of air defense missile launches, passed off as impact footage, and even the arrival of a Ukrainian UAV over Moscow-City.

▪️Interestingly, just before the Iranian attack, a terrorist attack occurred in Tel Aviv in the Jaffa area: two men with automatic weapons opened fire on people in a tram, and then opened fire on passers-by. According to the latest information, eight people were killed, and the attackers were eliminated by Israeli security forces.

Against the background of the missile strike incident, the Internet has seen assumptions about a connection between the two events - presumably the terrorist attack could have been used as a distracting factor. However, this version raises more questions than trust.

🔻Despite the still relatively small amount of information about the consequences of the attack, its overall results are clear and do not differ significantly from the Iranian raid on Israeli territory in April. The point is that for Iran, the main goal was not so much to inflict significant damage, but to create the right picture for its audience, wounded by the recent actions of the Israelis.

At the same time, it must be admitted that the mostly outdated missiles launched by the Iranians cost much less than the interceptor missiles and air defense systems used by Israel and its allies. So in economic terms, the attack was beneficial: the other question is that this is hardly enough in the current conditions.

I’ve had the same concerns about that poster and their analysis always seems to be vanilla regurgitation of whatever the US puts out. Not saying they’re wrong or right, but something is really off with them. Can’t put my fingers on it

A pro-western analysis from a pro-western clique of ex-mods?! Quelle surprise!

What I want to know is if Iran managed to destroy any air assets of Israel.

That's the most important thing.

Damage to Israeli air assets makes it harder for Israel to conduct air operations in Lebanon and Gaza, as well as retaliate against Iran's assets in the region and Iranian soil itself.

You are prejudiced towards western narrative. Note your take on the formation of ISIS, which was a copy and paste from Wikipedia.

Reports of 20 odd F35 destroyed...given the heavy beating that base took, I won't be surprised!

Very effective against Palestinians rockets.

Not practical against Ballistic missile. They have other ABM system against Ballistic missiles but again its very difficult to hit BMs because of extremely high speeds.

BBC reports that IDF will attack Iran tonight. I wonder what the targets will be.
