Pakistan UAVs News & Discussions

More efficient to use them as unmanned bait for enemy air defence. Pakistan will never invest enough in the industry to replicate the mass production success of the Lancet.
OK so we have two requirements , one as unarmed decoys to bait the air defense systems and the other to hit targets in stealth and with heavy payload. This is the best time to manufacture and test in real combat environment and get real time data on the fly (no pun intended).

All this is great, but I haven't seen anything that suggests that Pakistan is seriously going after FPV drones or is building the infrastructure to be able to mass produce thousands of these drones

The lessons from Ukraine must be learnt, we are going for higher end drones, sure. However I think more simpler drones that can be used in the field are urgently needed and we can have plenty of practice against the yahoos from Afghanistan

I think DJI is much more economical option already available. Question is does Pakistani forces have DJI or any other FPV in numbers?

It's debatable whether they are economical for recon missions but definitely not for FPV.

Ukrainians are importing parts and assembling FPV drones for roughly 300 dollars. Cheapest DJai drone costs more than that. DJI FPV costs double of that.

DJI drones are high quality and are not meant to be one time use like FPV.

Well i don't know much about drone types but if you or someone here knows about it can tell the price of them by checking from https://djistore.pk/

Also consider this is commercial price and if Forces wants to purchase directly then the price can be much lower.

The ucav acquisition reeks of embazlment......for the simple fact that they r buying Chinese n Turkish drones with over lapping capabilities n roles n on top of that the drones being acquired are not in numbers, to create an impact but just a few of each type. Even when u add the ucav of 2/3 type they don't even make a sqd.
All this on top of the acquisition of the local drones, who r the work horse of the PAF along with the falco.

Some ppl have made a lot of money on the expense of Pakistan.
But then again who cares......کیوں جی سردار جی

Story as old as Pakistan but on the other hand too much is made fo drone purchases. Pakistan might have bought token numbers of different ones, but the bulk are either already produced in-house or will be with the help of Turks. Don't see Chinese male type drones in large numbers in Pakistan

If I am in my happy zone then I would give PAF the benefit of the doubt.....ie......they have been acquiring all these diff ucav to fly them out extensively under diff senerios, conditions n altitudes...even use them in combat....figure out their strengths n weaknesses n then chose the best for acquisition in numbers....maybe even produce them under license.

Even better tell all the foreign producers...thank u very much n give all the data n input gathered from all the ucav ti GIDS etc.....n then produce a series of the mother of all ucav.
Hale n male.

That will be the day.

I've always seen it as, Pakistan feels we can produce our own drones in numbers and we are working on numerous drone types which we will mass produce..

In the meantime we require drones so we are purchasing a varied amount to not only cover any operations that may be needed but also do grow our drone operator numbers and get a good idea of drone capabilities and what our own drones need to match or exceed

Just imagine the cost n headache of maintenance of these different types....n that too in peace time......in case of war most would be grounded.

Some one a long time ago had referred to the Pak armed forces as " confused warrior"....I think he was being polite as the more appropriate reference would be "corrupt generals.".
