Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh during an official visit to Saudi Arabia, according to Pakistan’s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Upon his arrival at the Royal Palace, the crown prince welcomed the Army Chief warmly. Discussions focused on shared interests, particularly in areas of regional peace, defence cooperation, and enhancing bilateral relations.

General Munir expressed appreciation for the crown prince’s contributions to regional stability and thanked him for Saudi Arabia's consistent support for Pakistan. Additionally, the army chief held talks with Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman. Both leaders committed to strengthening defence and security cooperation.

The visit also included meetings with Assistant Minister of Defence Engineer Talal Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Chief of General Staff of Royal Saudi Armed Forces Air Chief Marshal Fayyadh Bin Hamed Al Ruwaili, and Chief of Royal Saudi Land Forces Lieutenant General Fahad bin Saud Al-Johani, underscoring the depth of military ties between the two nations.

The army chief’s visit follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia, where bilateral collaboration expanded to $2.8 billion. Last month, a Saudi investment delegation in Pakistan signed 27 agreements worth $2.2 billion, reflecting the growing economic and strategic partnership between the countries.

Munir is such a clown. What Pakistan needs is NOT more "defence and security ties", it needs real economic investment and that will not be organised by a boot shiner COAS ...

That is not a return
He was going to win regardless - check out the stats -

What in it for him personally as a brand - as Trump - for his buddies, Trump investments

Etc

That's a very good question. What's in it for him? Unfortunately, there's not much demand for Trump Towers in Pakistan. Prices will be too high. However, overseas Pakistanis may buy apartments in residential high rises branded with the Trump logo.

Beyond that, many countries have pledged to invest billions of dollars in Pakistan but they never do because of the pathetic investment climate. If we get a new properly elected government, lets' say PTI, then Pakistan can attract hundreds of billions of investment. Trump and Co can be given a cut in them.

Pakistan is a basket case because of rogue generals and criminal politicians. Once they’re gone the country can finally start progressing.

Or the country is gone before them and then then the benchmarks and metrics for progress change entirely. Kosovo, montenegro and Croatia would be better gauges…. Hopefully… and not north and south sudan

Despite the awful situation, I still have very high hopes for Pakistan. But only if the generals can be brought under control. Like the saying goes: who will bell the cat?

Is Zalmay part of Trump admin?

It all depends upon Pakistanis - I admittedly have no stake and regardless of spending more time in Pakistan this year than ever since I moved away - I cannot comment on the what people actually want to do - just what they tell me which is “Help us get out of here”

How do you know all this ? Is the butler of MBS your close buddy ?

Well, forget about how I know, but I take you were the fluffer when IK was having a quikie in White House?

PTI should reach out to Zalmay, as a man that was inside Trump team, especially to help cobble together the mutually beneficial plan I mentioned before.

Zalmay goes back to the Reagan years. He’s in deep with the republicans and is anti the Pak Establishment, so he’s well suited to helping forge a new grand bargain / understanding between the US, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Another interesting tweet

There is only one man in Pakistan who Afghan Taliban trust. If New American administration wants to re-engage with Afghanistan based on Doha agreement, there is no one more suitable to act as a bridge then IK. These rats in GHQ literally tried their best to screw up Pak Afghan relations toeing Biden agenda. Taliban hate Asim muneer and his gang, hence unqualified as per American agenda.

Mind you, Taliban have welcomed Trump victory!

Take this from BRICS angle as well and it's expansion into central Asia and South, Americans are getting jittery.

But my suggestion of bringing in Trump Would allow the Talibs to secure the one thing they are key to get, American recognition. They get the US, they secure the west. That will ensure their regime will endure.

This is why Pakistan must extract a world changing deal. IK, Zalmay, and Trump. The three men that could get it done if there were any to do it. Just like Mongolia divides up mining contracts, Pakistan and Afghanistan divide up mining contracts between China, the US, the West, and the GCC and they will have secured interdependence. All these parties can help keep the Indians and Iranians off their backs.

I don't see Pakistan's flag in that picture? Isn't that against the protocol?

I know. He has been there since time of Reagan. My question was, would he be part of incoming administration. Coz if he is, Asim muneer tattay are going to get squeezed hard.
