The F-35 from the get go was always constrained by the need to accommodate a STOVL version. Everything in the aircraft is hampered around it - but then it eventually does translate to some economies of scale.It seems to have far less bumps and bulges on the body compared to the F-35. Needless to say sure the Chinese leanred a lot of what they were able to extract secretly about the F-35.
If the thrust to weight ratio is the same as the F-35 (and on paper it is claimed to be) and the data fusion is as good, this will be a beast. Pretty unchallangeable in South Asia, and I would go so far as to say even when the AMCA comes along.....
