These tanks are very old. I would rather procure newer models depending on our budget.

True that. But upgrading older tanks will help maintain numbers, while they develop doctrine, procure & deploy new platforms.

Also seeing the Ukraine war situation, I would say even some older tank is better than no tank. Have to throw as much metal into the grinder as possible.

That is basically our air and missile defense command. Excellent endeavour. Separating from Regiment of Artillery. I heard previously it would headquartered in Barishal with 7th division.

Now only thing remain is army intelligence Corps.

Apperantly, (from an actual insider) army has plans to raise 1x air defense brigade per division across the country in the long run. Just like 10x Artillery brigades.

Each AD brigade should consist of=

1x Regiment VSHORAD SPAAG. (Each consisting of two batteries, C-RAM capable.)

1x Regiment of MANPADS. (100x missile each)

1x MRSAM Regiment. (1x system.)

Plus, each brigade must have C2 nodes networking with each others as well as tapping into BAF and Navy's long range sensors.

I am in favour of proliferation of MANPADS like we did with ATGMs.

A top attack missile system like Chinese Red Arrow system will be great addition. Can engage bith armour & low flying copter/drones with same system.

There is a new evaluation notice for upgradation of Type 59 & Type 69 of Army.

Maybe a regiment of Type 59 & 1 regiment of T 69.

For Comilla & Bogra may be?

Previously I thought they said they upgraded 174 t 59s but in actuality the number is more like 70…

Really don’t know why they’re wasting money on upgrading these things

Just on 12th there was reports of abduction of two more officers. One army and one navy and they went missing for two days. Army intelligence picked them up from front of jamuna. So really not a thing of the past. As long as Wakar and all the men he surrounds himself with are in chain of command. I don’t expect any change

Unfortunately not. None of the so called BD defense channel seems to have pick it up yet. (Maybe they will do tomorrow, lol) There is some sort of exhibition going on by the army.

But I think we will know more details soon. (So far I can only tell, those red ones are target drones)

I don't think so. These are totally indigenous efforts.

Yes we will oon. BD has signed a contract with a Turkish company to stablish an automated Turn-key production line for 105mm and 155mm artillery rounds.
