Egyptian Armed Forces

The contract was confirmed in the Egyptian airshow 2024 by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) head...He said it was a state contract..
Do you have an official source?

We have not seen any such announcements from official Chinese government or CAC media accounts on Chinese media, lots of such 'news' from bloggers....

Thanks for that.

I watched the original clip as well as read the summary, yes, they signed some kind of agreement with regards to an advanced fighter jet, and he'll try his best to push forward with it, so a bit more complicated than a simple order, guess that could explain why there hasn't been any official announcements.
Things are bigger than fighter jet deals and their ammunition
There is a change in the international situation in the coming period. Trump will lead a trade war against China
And they call on the Russians to stand with America against China in this trade war. Do not think that the Russians are happy with the Chinese taking over the Russian share in the international fighter jet and weapons market with the decline in its ability to develop aircraft. Egypt announced an international tender. The Americans submitted an F-16 development package at an unacceptable cost and with unacceptable technical specifications. The Russian side submitted an offer for MIG-29/35 fighters. The Russians’ inability to develop the Zhuk-AM radar at the required level led to their withdrawal from the tender. The same thing happened with the Korean offer. The technical specifications of the radar and the aircraft and the price led to its rejection.
Things also have other calculations. China will most likely stop buying more J-10 fighters. Therefore, countries want weapons and ammunition at the level of Western weapons. If China refuses, why do countries risk buying a Chinese weapon that has not been tested operationally, even if it is cheap, except with technical advantages?
At the same time, production is moving towards more J-20 aircraft and J-16 and J-35A

Therefore, China exports the J-10C aircraft to reap profits in the market and gain influence in the international market

So far, China has not announced that it will obtain the J-35A aircraft for the Chinese Air Force, while it is almost a guarantor of exports of 200 aircraft to Pakistan and Egypt

China is now working in 3 industrial zones in Egypt to establish industries that will be exported to Europe and America, due to the customs restrictions and protectionism that it is implementing against China. Now, the size of new investments exceeds $20 billion, which has led China to convert a large part of the Egyptian debts into Egyptian pounds instead of dollars, as China has requested high customs exemptions in Egypt in return, as China has decided to produce in five countries for export to America to get rid of the American and European customs protectionist measures, as imposed on electric cars

In addition to the fact that Egypt refuses to export rare elements except after advantages, including transferring aircraft manufacturing technologies to Egypt, in return, matters are weighed by this measure, other than political relations and the fact that Egypt was essential in the Silk Road or the Belt and Road Initiative and Egypt owns corridors and regions The most modern logistics and financial services in the world, including of course the Suez Canal, are matters in the calculations of all countries. In addition to the fact that Egypt is the largest African trade market for China.

At the same time, production is moving towards more J-20 aircraft and J-16 and J-35A
Yes, it has been suspected for a while by some Chinese bloggers and PLA watchers that the PLAAF may have stopped procuring J-10C, and it will only be manufactured for exports now.

So far, China has not announced that it will obtain the J-35A aircraft for the Chinese Air Force, while it is almost a guarantor of exports of 200 aircraft to Pakistan and Egypt
Actually, the J-35A is the PLAAF designation, and it was announced by the PLAAF just before the Zhuhai Airshow as one of the Air Force’s equipments that they will be showing at the show this year, intended procurement numbers is not something the PLA announces as per usual.

Not yet..he also said that the deal is handled by the Chinese armed forces and the Egyptian armed forces..

There must be some modifications of the specs to fit Egypt'..and also talk about the manufacture of some ammunition..The deal as such was signed..now the details phase..

China is masterfully managing the integration of missiles into Western fighters. The Rafale contract includes Egypt integrating non-French munitions into the Rafale fighters, and the same applies to the Mirage 2000. Theoretically, Egypt has 16 thousand landing gears, but American approvals are practically ignored. The Americans also claim that they do not know that their weapons have been hacked.

There are a lot of visits lately. Maybe ongoing JV talks etc... @Sami_1 @GoMig-21 @The SC

What is happening between Egypt and Turkey is a process of normalization and confidence building. There are still traces of Turkish policy in the Middle East that need time. The effects of the acceleration of visits between the military means the beginning of expansion in the areas of joint training and the search for common ground between the two sides for cooperation. Military cooperation in the field of expertise. The period before 2013 there was cooperation and the Turks were supplying Egypt with some ammunition and records that America was restricting, such as advanced ammunition for the M60 tank fleet and a maintenance and overhaul center for fighter targeting warehouses and their development, as Egypt maintains a ratio of 1:1 targeting warehouse for each fighter to raise the performance of the fighters from various international sources. Egypt obtained MRTP-33 missiles from the Turks armed with Chinese C-705 missiles, before which MRTP-20 fast boats. The Turks are offering the Egyptians larger missile boats, perhaps of the MRTP-45/51 models manufactured locally, as well as OPV ships of the Hisar model, which was leaked from news that they It will be equipped with armament to the level of a corvette, unlike the usual in such ships, and the same thing applies to small landing ships manufactured in the Alexandria Arsenal. In terms of engines, it is believed that the Koreans provided a 1000-horsepower engine produced locally for the K8 cannon and perhaps later heavy armor. Turkey may obtain contracts for 400/600-horsepower engines for the production of new armor. There is fierce Chinese competition with the Turks. The Turks are biting some anti-tank missiles and drones. The Turks do not understand that Egypt has actually been negotiating for years with the South Koreans and the Chinese on many weapons, and the negotiations are almost over, or perhaps contracts have already been signed with them. The announcement may not have been made, so they come after the contracts have ended, but there are still new requirements. Therefore, the Turks want to implement the same idea of the media in the joint production of new weapons. The Russians also have lost their markets, so they are heading to Egypt and India to produce their equipment in these countries to circumvent the sanctions and try to gain markets from Chinese brutality, especially since The Chinese themselves have a special interest in Egypt to be their forward manufacturing base for export to Europe instead of the high transportation costs, currency costs, and European protection fees against Chinese products, so competition is fierce among all European suppliers themselves. Their arms restrictions have led to their exit from the markets. Therefore, what we see from the dilemma of the German car industry will be repeated with European industries that have been transferring their manufacturing to Southeast Asia for 50 years and refusing to localize it in the countries of the southern Mediterranean as a result of religious differences and historical grudges that Europe is currently paying the price for, against which the Americans and Russians have allied. Therefore, the countries’ tendency to cooperate with China and Southeast Asia is a reaction to what the Europeans have done. Let us return to the Turkish side. There will be broader cooperation with the Egyptians, but not as quickly as some expect. Turkish propaganda that the Egyptians want a lot of Turkish military equipment is more a promotion of Turkish weapons than real contracts. Although there are expected contracts, for example, Egypt is looking for cheaper solutions to develop 120 F-16 BLOCK-40 aircraft, so extending the life of the structures The engines are almost finished with the American side. All that remains is the avionics package and the electronic warfare, which will be with a non-American party primarily. Turkey may be a supplier in the event of the effectiveness of Turkish development. The Egyptians are not deceived by advertisements or promotions, but they do not contract for any product unless it has entered service and has a successful operational record. Therefore, cooperation with the Turks will be in the future. The new fighters are expected to have the best chance for the Chinese side. The same thing. The advanced training aircraft has not been decided yet. Egypt is waiting for the Turkish equipment to mature, and this matter actually needs years. Therefore, perhaps the basis is military normalization in creating military harmony and training programs that will be the basis.

You’d need American approval to install Turkish components in f16s since they are American model aircrafts. They could kill switch the whole fleet if Egypt disobeys them and proceeds in protest. I see no reason to upgrade too many of them since china is pushing heavy for us to get mor j10s and eventually the j31/35

What I am saying is not a personal opinion as some expect, but rather related to one of the aircraft factory engineers in a conversation he had more than 10 years ago with one of the Lockheed Martin workers when they visited Egypt. I would like to clarify a point to you. In fact, the F-16 aircraft was hacked in Egypt. The reason for stopping the matter is corruption, as the senior workers wanted to attribute this work to themselves instead of the officer who carried it out and his group. As a result of the corruption, they refused to implement it on the ground before obtaining their rights. Consequently, the matter was cancelled. You are Egypt’s problem. The corrupt regime is the one that is destroying it with claims of non-existent national honor. Anyone who objects to this corruption is considered a traitor.

Regarding cooperation with the Turks, I have previously explained that they must offer something distinctive, good and competitive to accept any cooperation with them. On the subject of the Americans, I have explained that they are ignored, not only Egypt but the whole world. For four years, African countries have refused when they put forward projects for French and European bids because of their plundering of the wealth of their peoples and their corruption in implementing infrastructure projects. The Americans are not wanted and not liked to deal with, and this is the reason for the shrinkage of the economies of these countries and America’s ignition of wars to open a field for its goods and products because of their failure to implement pressures. There are also important matters in dealing. The American conditions may not apply to the old contracts for F-16 fighters because the Americans in the nineties and until 2005 did not expect the technical development of the Chinese, Russians, and even the Koreans and Turks, so their restrictions on contracts were less than the new contracts. Because of the American conditions, Egypt does not implement any contracts with the Americans because they are rejected. The Rafale and MiG-29 contracts are all flexible in armament. It led to duplication of contracts, otherwise the purchases are rejected. Why did you buy an American weapon that is restricted in use, development and equipment?

The candidate within the Egyptian AH-64 upgrade program is the Chinese JK-2 missile, weighing 50 kilograms and with a range of 35 kilometers,

unless Egypt develops a similar local missile within the package of guided munitions that was announced in 2021, which included extensive cooperation with China and Spain on this point, in addition to Serbia.
