Iran is claiming they targetted militant houses, the militant are also admitting the same. Yes its condemnable, and Pakistan should target anti Pakistan militants in Iran but not start a war where 1000s will die. In a way Pakistan can now target Indian agents in Iran, and Indian trained militants.

Not start a war but target the base from where the missile attack originated.

They killed Pakistani children . Children , 100’s of kilometers away from the border . If nothing is done then might as well pack up the military because it’s an open invite to anyone to attack us .

no no no. you think that iran can fool Pakistan by playing mind games. There was no group. It killed kids. Now i want to see bloodshed in Tehran. No, the Iranian Foreign Minister is calming the situation and is stressing the govts of both countries the attack was not aimed at them.

Just to inform that you I am Pakistani descent. Lived in Pakistan in late 80's to mid-90s. I try to keep myself updated with happenings in Pakistan. I have seen detailed documentaries on operation swift retort. There's history between India and Pakistan, Secondly both are nuclear armed nations. Iran doing missile attack on Pakistan was unimaginable. If unpunished, it will make a new normal that they can hit Pakistan anytime they want. I don't know what part of comments were inflammatory. They definitely see some weakness before striking. As far as terror outfits are concerned, its definitely time to accept and address this. I am not saying that Iran & Afghanistan do not have those but Pak & Iran should had to seriously resolve this before doing unilateral strikes. Iran doing missile strike only shows that Pakistan did not took their concerns seriously. Why on earth they will strike a nuclear armed country if they did not had genuine concerns. Again, I think Iran has done a blunder, they have done this at a very wrong time and gave Pakistan little to no choice. Its a matter of restoring honor & pride for Pakistan. If the army still cares for it. Retaliation must be very calculated, you don't want an all out war at your western side of the borders.

From a tactical perspective, knowing Irans will be ready for a retaliation, how would Pakistan respond?

I think, PAF luring Iranian air force fighters towards them and shoting them down. What they did in 2019 with India. This will be sufficient to not escalate the matter further.
