Puzzled by this ceasefire! Trying to understand why would Hezbollah agree to a ceasefire now when it was Hezbollah who unilaterally attacked Israel after October 7, 2023 to divide the Israeli attention as an attempt to support Gaza. Why a ceasefire now after so much death and destruction in Lebanon?! But it doesn't appear Hezbollah has that weakened.
From what I have pieced together, a 60-day ceasefire in Lebanon is a prelude to similar temporary ceasefire in Gaza and the 60-day period allows Biden some stupid point scoring as he leaves office; multiple sources saying Biden had threatened Israel with a UNSC vote imposing a ceasefire if Biden was not given at least this tiny 'credit'. And Israelis, who always wanted a ceasefire in the north anyway, don't mind obliging Biden and the 60-day period Trump will almost certainly give all Netanyahu wants. Also, both Iran and Hamas saying okay for Hezbollah to take a break from the fighting.
But I don't know. Information is not clear so far.

Netanyahu really does view toppling Hamas as changing the face of the region. Because indeed with Hamas and it's popular support, it is the only road block for Israeli hegemony and comfort.
Hamas out of the picture would make for dangerous developments in the region. Especially on religious and cultural side. They will move full force to spread people away from Islam and push them towards superstition/shirk.

Urgent | Netanyahu: We are changing the face of the Middle East
The ceasefire is with the government of Lebanon..Hezbollah is a political party (with an armed wing)..not the whole government..so this was sort of imposed on it..Puzzled by this ceasefire!
