In this case, POW doesn't apply. The US literally rewrote their own laws, because they didn't want to classify captured AQ and Taliban fighters as POWs, so they refer to them as "armed enemy combatants" a vague term that allowed the US to circumvent both their own laws of war, and the Geneva Conventions.

As such, Aafia didn't even get a trial based on military judicial doctrine, but was convicted in a secret trial where she was not allowed to present evidence to defend herself. Her trial was also conducted in a high speed manner, meaning it was likely a kangaroo court.

Was she a part of AQ or the taliban? It literally doesn't matter. Even the nazis were given a fair trial and allowed to defend themselves.

Yes, it is true for some reason the 'trials' appear too hush, hush. And the explanation that they are using classified evidence seems unsatisfactory since many of the defendants are pretty ordinary. Many are quite dumb even. Something about this war on terror seems Orwellian.

America wanted her handed over because the Americans had a list of the people
with PHD's they wanted handing over. She wasn't the only 1 to be handed over, their
were many others who were nuclear scientists and engineers.

Even during Iraq war the Americans went after the people with PHD's, scientists
and nuclear engineers.

She had no background in nuclear science or engineering. She was a biologist.
For a period from 1990, she studied in the United States and obtained from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology a B.S. in biology, and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Brandeis University in 2001

It is orwellian. The very name "war on terror" is essentially an oxymoron.

BTW ISI kidnapped her from outside her home in Karachi and her plight was brought to fore by Yvonne Ridley after she had interviewed detainees who were also held Bagram torture center run by Americans and reported hearing screams of a women being tortured.

Shortly after this story came out in public, the ever truthful Americans slapped her with a laughable charge of attacking a marine during her detention for which she received 80 years. No mention of terrorism or alqaeeda. And faujeets true to their despicable and egregious form then just as now were singing the praises of that jahanumi Busharraf and defending the actions of their amreeki mai baap.

I still don't have the slightest clue why a woman with 3 young kids and degrees in biology from U.S. universities, with no apparent militant training, was targeted by ISI for pickup, transported to Afghanistan, then tried and jailed for life in U.S. She does have a checkered personal life though. For example, she had an extremely brief 'marriage' with this character:

She probably refused to work on the COVID weapons program or some other sh!t. It must have been something really big or she was so brilliant and they felt she was a threat to them. On another note over 1 million have signed a petition to have her released.

There is no evidence to suggest that Aafia Siddiqui was ever at the battlefield in Afghanistan. She was arrested in Ghazni, Afghanistan in 2008, but this was not a combat zone at the time.

She was caught red handed by NDS and ISAF in Ghazni providing guidance on IEDs, with manufacture and design materials.

What was she doing in Ghazni as a Punjabi? She's definitely not native to Ghazni.
