Afghans will never accept the border, and that their rule ends at that border. Pakistan has to secure that border in such a way that Afghans will have to accept the border as a fact of life.
As far as TTP holding posts on the Afghan side of the border; should they use it to fire upon Pakistan or Pakistani forces, it gives callus belli for a full response in and around that post.
The goal is changing their behavior, not toppling their regime (at least not at this point, if it comes to that).
A “thunder run” (low pass near-supersonic buzz by the JF-17) should be done along the border and possibly just outside of the nearest town should the Afghans or their TTP “guests” as they call them become. To show them the PAF can be used should they be pushed to do so.
Civilians should be kept out of this as best possible to show this is about dealing with the TTP and that the Afghan Talibs allowing the TTP to be there has brought this to this point.
We need to fortify the border with hardened pill boxes and automated gun systems to save the lives of frontline soldiers. If the TTP see they are not able to inflict casualties, it will also demotivate them.
Limiting the fight to within the border zone will prevent Pakistan from falling into the false narrative trap India is trying to push to get Pakistan to get into a quagmire in Afghanistan.
Pakistan doesn’t need to take Afghan territory but needs to constantly occupy space in Afghan Taliban and TTP minds.
